The harley from the easy rider movie just sold at auction. I'd rather buy a Tbird and a bonnie and R3 and a diavel and a few more, plus a house with a huge garage to keep them in. By the way, with such a rake, what the hell do they make those fork tubes out of to keep from collapsing? (rhetorical Q, but jesus...)

I know that on the copy made in the UK soon after the film came out the "telescopics" were actually 2 bits of scaffolding pipe welded up..... they tried forks but they just kept folding..!!

Colin Chapman once said: "If you add horsepower you'll be quick on the straight,...but if you remove weight you'll be quicker everywhere.." ....so why in hell did I buy a Thunderbird...!!!

There's no way to know if that is one of the 5 bikes (I think 5) made for the movie.

I've seen very realistic replicas in several collections.

Well, not sure how accurate, but peter fonda authenticated it if thats of any consequence. We don't know what info he has that can authenticate it reliably. But i believe the guy who owned it previously had it for many years from a point at which it was likely much easier to authenticate. May have gone right from the movie set to him or whatever. There were 4 made from what the news said.

You would think for $1.3 they could have put some air in the tyres.

They don't wanna mix todays air with that vintage air thats been in them since '69.
