With the CAT box eliminated, they're basically the same design as the BC's (British-Customs) pipes!
I think they look high quality (from what we can see) and I like how they have made details at the ends. Not your normal Joe Bloggs cut off - something different!
PLUS - I find the price attractive.
When I think about it - my line of thoughts say:
I paid CHF 675.00 (Swiss Francs) / 450.00 Euro for the OEM Triumph Long TOR's which:
- look EXACTLY the same as the stock pipes
- give better performance (supposedly! Daz can give more input here)
- give a louder throaty sound when under load
For 150.00 Euro more, you can get the RAASK's which:
- look different (better imho)
- eliminate the CAT box, which in turn can only:
= lead to more power
= louder, throaty sound
= cooler running engine (breathing freely)
At the end of the day - in my opinion - I feel that, had I not already have the TOR's installed, I would have gone for these from the selection that are already available!

I suspect that regarding the CAT issue - it could be possible, but it is know that with the CAT you don't get much better performance (but these pipes are about the looks)
Regarding the TAX:
1) 25% sucks big time!
2) the price is what the guy at RAASK gave me. He also stated that I should add 50.00 Euro for shipping and handling.
I just know that if I would be caught here in Switzerland with the CAT removed, I'd have my license taken away from me for 3 months and a fat fine to pay!

The guy is going slow with development because tweaks they found necessary with the R3 pipes that set them back so they are being very cautious this time around. The proposed cost is going to be around $1200 retail. this information as of 10/19/09

I've also wondering what a 2 into 1 would look like. I think if done correctly, it would be very cool.

Ok, I finally got around to ask Raask and was disappointed to find out that they don't make the 2-1 system anymore and the ones they made are sold out. Why discontinue a product that sells out?
Anyway the normal 2 muffler system costs 600 euros plus shipping to Helsinki. I guess I'll stick to the short TORs I have know?!?!?!

Sadly I think you are right. I've thought on this issue for a while and just can't come up with something that would work. I love a single sided exhaust but the fact of the matter is the bird is pretty damn ugly at the swing arm and while you might could have a 2 into one or even a single sided 2 into 2 that might look good, the other side of the bike is going to look like crap. The bike needs the exhaust to mask that area.
