Has anyone installed a J&M Handlebar mounted CB radio on their Thunderbird 1600? I had no problem mounting it to the handlebars yet am a bit confused about how to wire it to a switchable power source or accessory terminal? Pictures or advice welcomed? Thanks!

My friends hardly talk to me as it is.

Two likely power sources: One is the aux light switch on LH grip, I believe its lead is in headlight bucket and should have blue tape on it (red one belongs to turn signal). Have to assume it passes thru ignition switch. The other (always live) is the accessory/powerlet connector located behind RH side cover. Fuse box is there, too, might have an extra fuse available.

I see service manuals on CD are again available on eBay, good thing to have if you haven't acquired one yet. Someone also had an original hard copy listed for $99.....

Thought CB's went out with the advent of cell phones. Truckers still use them, I guess, but I haven't had a CB in a vehicle in 20+ years!

Your best bet would be to wire directly to batt with in line fuse . CB is still a great way to communication I talk all around the world for free on Ham radio . N3ZAT

I relocated my ashtray and installed my CB alongside the DVD player Works a treat.
Can't help with the wiring I had the dealer install it.

That makes sense, Smitty. You've got all the comforts of home on your bike.
