I purchased a Kaoko Throttle Lock from TwistedThrottle.com a few weeks ago. I put it on the bike yesterday and immediately knew that it wasn't the throttle system for me. Yes, it worked exactly as it was supposed too, and was extremely easy to install. I just didn't feel safe with it on my bike. (Other people LOVE them!)

I called TwistedThrottle a few minutes ago to see if I could return it. I was immediately told "NO!" No discussion, just a flat refusal to take it back. I couldn't even exchange it for something else! When I told them I felt unsafe with it on the bike, they just said "Sorry."

I can't say too many good things about the customer service at Twisted Throttle. I will NOT be making any other purchases with them. I am now sorry that I HAVE made several purchases from them. They don't deserve my business.

So, would anyone like a Kaoko Throttle Lock system for a Triumph Thunderbird and Thunderbird Storm? (Part #KAO.TBIRDSS) I paid $124.99 + shipping. It has been used for less than 10 miles. I'll take $100 + shipping.

Jim

I likewise originally bought a Kaiko and found it a little cumbersome for myself. I reckon there is only one (Throttle Lock) for the TBirds and that is the "Breakaway System" There are quite a few cheapies but this is the best.

I was looking for a system as well. Came across the Kaiko but just didn't quite like the operation of it.. Ended up getting a go cruise.. Very basic and cheap.. Haven't used it yet but done a static test and seem fine.. I think it was mentioned in a post on this site that i came across..

I also bought one and love it I only use it about once every 100km or so just to give my hand a break on the throttle. I give my hand a stretch and then just take the lock off again.

Like I said, some people love them. They DO work! I just don't like them.

Although not strictly a throttle lock, if you're looking to take the strain out of the wrist on longer trips this works fine....

Several other types around but I got this with the grips and locks....best mod for price I've done...!!!
The tension is taken by the ball of the hand and the 'grip' can be relaxed.

I have had both the Kaoko ( i have it on my current bike) and the Breakaway system on my old Kawasaki Vulcan 1600. The breakaway system is by far the best of the 2 , a lot easier to use and set up . It might cost more but but it's a lot better .
