Hi All. I'm doing some colour accents to the bike by adding Storm turn signals, black n chrome shocks and a black (single) headlight. I've read threads about headlamp options using V-rod, Triumph America and other 7" conversions.

Question: IYO, what would be a cool headlight style (taken from any bike) for the Thunderbird? I plan to search (online and boneyards) for a used chrome unit and powder coat it. Thanx!

Here's one idea (Victory Judge), not sure about the bucket style.

...and the bird's not morphing into a Vic.

I found the turn signals on my storm stuck out too far so I ditched them for the 1600 chrome ones.

I also did the headlight upgrade from the twin storm to a 7" single. The place here is Aus had black or chrome and after a lot of thought I went with the chrome, but still wonder how the black would have looked.

That does look better, I didn't realise the storm indicators stuck so far out. With the chrome indicators I think the black headlight might not have worked so well.

I like the front appearance of that light! If you have a side pic, please post.

Yeah, I thought about the extended turn signal length and may try a modification. Cheers.

It looks like I can swap out the long (Storm) turn signal extension for the short (Thunderbird) and paint it.

Happy 2014!

I found a headlight (black painted steel) that's approx. 7" x 5.6" like what you see on 'old school' street rods. Add a halogen lamp, it should be good.

since you've taken off the twins, my question is what is the exact size of the lights? Mine is in storage and I'm thinking of installing Daymaker headlights ..............

Hi Terota, I have a 7" single headlight, Thunderbird 1700 with black accents (never had twin lights...Storm's signature). Also, probably the best deal on the planet is (headlight in chrome too, modification required) Link
