Just an FYI on the Accessory Power Outlet. I purchased the kit thinking it would be nice to have a standard 12V outlet on the bike for plugging in things like a GSP or charging Blue Tooth headsets. I didn't know the Triumph Accessory Power Outlet isn't the standard size used in automobiles. It is smaller and shorter than that use in cars. As it turns out, it's the same size as the power outlets used on BMW R1200RT motorcycles. I happen to still have the power plugs I bought for my previous bike, the BMW R1200RT, and these plugs work just fine in the Triumph power outlet. Maybe this is a motorcycle power outlet standard, don't know? Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the outlet and plug;
Just thought this might be of interest to others contemplating purchasing the accessory power outlet.

I think the reason for this outlet is that it's amperage rating is far in excess of the normal "Ol Cigarette Lighter Outlet" and the reason behind it is the ability to run Heated Gloves & Riding Gear. ( Maybe up to 30/35amps)

Pretty much the same as I installed on my Bird, use it for the compressor. They are better quality than the auto type sockets & it's best to solder the connections. Guido.

Here in the States (and AZ is my fav, BTW) these "Powerlet" sockets are not very useful aside from Triumph's own accessories. Been a few discussions about it here, including this one : Link I had a cigarette lighter adapter wired and mounted under RH side cover for awhile, but that proved pretty awkward and very inconvenient.
I've since picked up a battery tender Link and wired its two-conductor jack to the terminals meant for the powerlet - which are always live - instead of going to battery lugs. I now have that jack tucked under LH side cover. A common automotive bullet connector, it looks like this:
In addition for use with battery tender, I can plug a phone and (camera) battery charger into it from LH saddlebag, along with an adapter for 5v USB gizmos. Best I could do for an auxiliary power source.....
If anybody wants a powerlet adapter w/mounts and all, I have one I've never mounted or used.

OK - so now my phone can charge while I ponder around the Swiss roads - PLUS - I'll be using it as my Optimate (battery tender / charger) input location!
I did look at the OEM socket, but as it's been commented - it's the smaller version of your standard car socket. So I bought: - a standard 12V cigerett socket - black outdoor silicone-filler - black cables ties
General testing of location - tucked up and under the tank on top of injector air input tubing...
I wired the socket directly to the battery, with a 5A fuse inline. I wrapped some plastic tubing and black electrical tape around the threading/rear of socket...
Then using some outdoor/all weather/saltwater resistan/-30 to 150 C silicone I...
... 'gundged' up the back of the socket |IMG Src='http://www.thunderbird1600.com/csp/Thunderbird/Images/Emoticons/More/023.gif'>
Then using two black cable ties I fixed the socket on top of the injector/air feed tubing.
Everything works wonderfully!
Total cost: - SFr. 19.00 Socket - SFr. 6.90 Silicone (loads left over - can/will be used for future projects) - SFr. 2.50 Cable ties --------------------------- SFr. 28.40
Triumph OEM Power Socket SFr. 45.00 - plus it's the wrong size for me!
Hope this helps someone |IMG Src='http://www.thunderbird1600.com/csp/Thunderbird/Images/Emoticons/More/032.gif'> |

BTW-the pre wired Triumph circuit will not support draw over 10 amps if memory serves correct.
