Like most of us I ride my bike to enjoy it ...... I have a screen on my bike and yeah I wear a full face helmet as well.
As I said ..... I ride my bike to enjoy it and more more comfort I have the better I like it.
If you enjoy the wind in ya face and eating the bugs that aren't smashed all over face ..... fuckin' good luck to ya.
I'm an old c#*t who's been there and done that so I don't have to prove anything to any prick.
I guess some people like Mjgt, would probably call me an 'old lady' ..... I couldn't give a rat's arse !!

Ditto, took mine off once for a short ride (110 kph) 'cause it looked cool. Reinstalled it as soon as I got home !

Would rather have a screen than not.

Bikes are about adventure, enjoying the outdoors, being a part of your surroundings .... A screen just doesn't do it for me. I ride open faced without a screen, ride as many miles as those that cover up completely, I just get there a bit more wind blown and bug spattered, which is just how I like it. There are precious few screens that don't look like unmitigated ass on the bird and the best looking ones are the smallest (a nod towards the ultimate 'best' one being the non-existent one) and those small ones would do next to nothing for someone my size.
Do what you want of course, that's the nice thing about riding any bike you can tune it to what you want. But long before I started getting barn door wind screens, big ass cushy seats by lazy-boy and massive Samsonite panniers I'd just buy a convertible and be done with it. They do that job better.

I guess I have the best of all worlds with this set up. The small one is great for putting up and down A1A on the beach, the large one is great when I have to get on I95 and head to Jacksonville which means I ride at 80 MPH for about 4 hours.
A couple of weekends ago my wife and I went to Key West, me on the bike and her in the support vehicle. I used the large screen down the turnpike to Homestead (75 MPH) then switched to the Summer Screen for the next 120 miles (50 MPH) through the Keys. Anything over 50 MPH with the Summer Screen causes buffeting but with the larger screen, I don't get any at all. Both have the quick release hardware so it's just a minute to switch them. If I'm just doing short trips or doing a Toy Run, I don't use either one. I also like the looks of the bike better without but have found out over the years that comfort is key when on long trips.

My bird came with the NC Switchblade Deflector. It is the smallest one - only 12" from cut out to the top edge. It really enhances the bike's lines. But I am trying to figure out what it does for Chrisakes. I am not very tall - about 5'8" and this thing diverts the wind exactly into my eyes so I have to wear the face shield on my helmet completely closed shut all the time. If I put my hand up just above the screen I can feel the blast of air pushing my hand back with tremendous force. That gust is what is making my head rotate like on a swivel with incredible buffeting. So I tried the NC 2-Up screen which is the 22". This thing is so large its like sitting in one of those hamster bubbles and I can't see over it. I ride at night a lot and seeing through a screen reduces the clarity of my vision exponentially. So now I exchanged the 2 Up and I am waiting for the Chopped screen that is a little smaller. We'll see. I went through the same drama on my Bonnie America and no matter what I did couldn't find the right formula - I moved it lower and higher and added lower shields of different sizes to find the right mix. So I rode 95 through Flagler County last night doing 70+ without a shield and I got off the bike a little beaten up by the wind but at least I was able to have my full vision available to me. What a nightmare. Wondering if anyone ever really gets used to looking completely through a screen. Cheers and safe riding.

I replaced my stock roadster screen with a 22.5" Cee Bailey. This the same height as stock but an inch wider on either side, which makes a big difference with buffeting. I' m 5'9" and with the taller long haul seat, the screen is perfect. You should be able to see the pavement over the top of the screen 50' in front of the bike. If you have the stock seat, the 20.5" Cee Bailey might work for you. Also get the Triumph lowers. I also have 6" Rivco risers and could be sitting a bit taller than you. Impossible to say.

I am hoping that the NC Swutchblade Chopped screen is the thing for me. It is about 4" taller than the Deflector but I have another 2" to lift it higher on the forks. So it should sit right to just be able to peer over. If not the choices are to change out my brackets and go a different brand altogether or ride with no screen. I would rather put the dough elsewhere since I am tired of going to the post office to exchange windscreens I know its all subjective and everyone rides different and sits in the saddle differently, but what a pain in the ass this is
