Just loosen the 10mm nuts on the threaded rod and twist the rod to adjust the shifting lever. A thought I have is to go with floorboards and use a heel shifter. Good luck.

I got it at a local motorcycle accessories shop. Then I had to find a metric round hex head bolt to fit it, maybe from Granger. You just need to match the stock bolt. The new bolt head had to be ground a bit to fit. It's fatter than stock so you have to adjust the shifter arm up a notch or two.

You can do that? I'll look at it when I get the bike back from service. Any chance you an snap a picture of what it looks like?

You don't even have to do as Fishy is suggesting. Just undo the Shift Lever retaining bolt and move the lever around a couple of splines on the shaft.

+1 on that. The stock shifter is too short. You have to twist you foot to get under it. Get a longer one.

Not the bit you hit with your toe, but the actual lever? When I'm in my normal riding position, heel of my boot hooked against the peg, the shifter hits right on my big toe, which sometimes gets uncomfortable. If the lever was shorter, it could hit on the top of my foot, before my toe. Is there an alternate shift lever that can move the shift peg closer? Or further, I suppose, for people with longer feet?

On mine there is a slight etch mark across the pivot shaft that marks the original set location.

I'm going to extend the brake and gear lever according to my foot. I tried moving the bolts, but I don't like it. I need a longer lever and there are no aftermarket replacements.
