Hello

I have the chrome switch covers and will be installing soon. Any tips on installing, will be putting a set of Kuryakan ISO grips on at same time.

Thanks
John

been a few years since i put them on, but as i recall there were no hurdles and it was very easy. Little bit time consuming is all.

Hi John
Did the same about 3 months ago (photos in my album) No probs, just a bit fiddly with the small screws inside the housings but mine went together easily.

I also replaced the (on my bike) nasty black/rusty philips-head screws holding them together for chromed allen bolt ones, did the same for the brake master cylinder/grip collars. Seemed to finish it off..... Can also highly recommend the throttle rest.... makes a big difference with long trips.

Usual blanket etc under the bars to stop any dropped tools etc scratching the tank/front guard.

Thanks for the help. Where did you disconnect power (if at all) at battery or did you pull main fuse?

Thanks
John

Didn't. Just made sure the ignition was off and key out.
Had a quick poke around with the multimeter and couldn't find any power there with the ignition off.

Started working on it last night, throttle side first. So far so good but I need more slack in throttle cables to install new grip.
I loosened adjusters at housing all the way but still need little moreslack so not to force cable. Do I loosen at throttle body, if so any tips?

Thanks
John

Loosen your centre handle bar mounting clamp off and slide the bars sideway to the LHS through the clamp. this gives Ya plenty of slack in the cables . don't forget to cover your tank with a blanket of towel and also a good idea to mark the bars and the clamp with a felt pen before you loosen off the clamp so you can put the bars back exactly in the same position where you had them originally.

Just attached cables.
I put throttle lever at body in the upper forward position and supported with a sharpie marker (non-scratching ) then moved throttle back cable popped in.
Just read your reply after I finished, if I do it again I try your route sounds better. Thank you for the help.
On a side note do these cables get lubed? If so what do you use?

Thanks
John

I'm going to have to do that mod. Finishes the bike off nicely. With regards to the bolts I'll probably go the ProBolt route .... The polished tapered jobbies look divine on my other bikes. They're pricey but make a hell of a difference.
