I'm curious if anyone has tried the Mustang solo with the Triumph tubular rear rack. Wonder if the rack would still fit.

Foolish to eliminate the air intake.
I'll have Rocky at Bill Mayer Seats build me a seat on the stock pan for about the same price.
The one he made for my Tiger is fantastic.

If you install the BC air box elimination kit the air intake will be a none issue

I just got both the solo mustang and pillion for it in last week and did a 400 plus mile trip the following Saturday. Seat arrived nicely packed with all hardware. Quality is good and mounting the solo rider seat was pretty painless. The pillion seat is a little more of a hassle but should get a little easier as it wears in some. It is really tough to slide it forward to engage the spools under the riders seat.

It does change your riding position, seems a little higher and forward. Comfort beats the stock seat hands down, I can't compare it to the longhaul seat since I don't have one. My passenger had no complaints and actually said she started falling a sleep at one point.

I have the 2010 1600 Thunderbird and didn't notice any change in engine performance due to the air intake difference between the original and new seat. Overall happy with the purchase.

I'll let you know in about a week. I've got the Triumph tubular rack and ordered the Mustang solo seat a few days ago.

Yep, it fits (with some minor reservations). See Link
