| | Posted : 16 May 2013 - 14:58 Post title : New Seat | | | Well the new seat arrived today. I'll hold off on opinions until i've put a few more miles on it, but initial impressions are good. Took the bike on a 200 mile test run (because it's a beautiful sunny day 18*C) to Inverness and back only stopped once for fuel. No problem, happy so far.
| I won't believe it until it has been officially denied.

The underside looks like this.

I too haven't had the time to put a lot of miles on it but will in the near future... from what I can tell I think I'm going to like it. I also bought the Highway Hawk luggage rack which fits (barely) but the bracket it comes with pushes it too far forward so I had to make one to allow it to fit with the Corbin seat. I also haven't noticed any affect on performance.

I haven't done a scientific study, but I can't tell any difference at all.

Butt dyno says no difference, other than improvement in comfort

I want to take the pillion seat and drive only with the driver's seat. It is very uncomfortable and it would be better to replace the original seat on the other. What do you suggest. thank you

| | Posted : 11 Aug 2013 - 12:27 Post title : Re: New Seat (Re: Smitty) | | | Hello all,
I too received the Corbin seat with backrest and glove box a couple of months ago. Have not had a chance to put much kms (or miles, depending where you are), but i do love the way it it looks. And the removable glove box is really handy and can easily fit a camera case and wallet.
Not too happy with the backrest though. The adjustments for the tilt does not do much for lower back support, hoping to do some modifications on that.
With regards to the air vents, i did do a fair bit of research (Link ) before ordering this seat. I can vouch that i find absolutely no difference when riding.
But like most of you here, i had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience dealing with Corbin. They have absolutely NO concept of customer service. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! to say the least.
Ride safe

| | Posted : 12 Aug 2013 - 09:28 Post title : Re: New Seat (Re: cavallaro) | | | Got to admit that the Corbin seat is a huge improvement over the stock seat. I can comfortably ride 4-500mile days without any real discomfort. The Corbin backrest though is not really worth the money, it's comfortable enough once its been adjusted to the correct angle for the rider, but to get it to the correct angle requires some bending of the metal support (Not easy it is a serious bit of metal). The standard tilt adjustment built into the corbin backrest is in my opinion next to useless. As other have mentioned, and also my personal experience, their customer service is as good as non existent, but the seat itself is damn comfortable.
