Couldn't say what size or anything else, but my dealer assured me theres one on the way. Just thought some of you would want to know that. Personally....eh....

I would guess at a 125. They are big sellers over here and would fit in well for their Asian market.

I have read, that a 250cc single is a possible ?? A re-birth of the Tiger Cub...
Recent changes in UK motorcycle licences... ( Making it more difficult to get one.) could back up the idea of a "Cub"
As other manufactures are now following the 250cc route, with new models coming on line.

I heard that this single was to be a big one, 2800cc or more. Makes sense as they already did the largest production triple, followed by the largest parallel twin.

largest single! it should have plenty of low end power.

Thats what the dealer suggested. He sounded like he knew more but didn't want to say. I'm sure the company makes them well aware they would be more than unhappy if dealers spill the beans about anything that supposed to be under wraps.I'd love to see a single, but i have zero interest in tiny ones. It would need to be at least a 650. the suzuki 650 single only puts out something like 30 HP if i recall. A 250 might be 15. I'm not into getting my ass kicked by vespas.

Think the point is being missed here
Triumph have done a brilliant job of reading the market and made a shed load of money by doing so....
They have now spotted another window (new licence law) & are more than aware of how much "Trials Cubs" are fetching in the current market + the the nostalgia of the Cub & it's name.....Triumph Tiger Cub. "Cub" a "Small Tiger"..... May be a clue there ?
Not saying this is a "Done Deal"... but what I have read & speaking to a person, who has more of a "Finger on the pulse" than myself... Think there is less of a chance it's going to be a Big single.

I'm not missing the point. I'm just saying a 250 holds no interest FOR ME. It may sell like hotcakes, but that has nothing to do with what i was saying. I think triumph does a great job of reading the market, especially on the sportbike/sports touring side. But i was only talking about what appeals to me personally, and a 250 doesn't. he also suggested that, he didn't tell me thats what it will be. The only thing he was willing to confirm is there will be a single.

Sorry Daz ! Was not directed at you mate... Uderstood perfectly what you were saying...
It was a general statement, thown out there, against the many other rumours of of size & capacity for the new cub.
I've got the same "accurate" info, as everybody else...

We'll all probably be proved wrong, in the long run.

Ok, no problem. But when you reply and it shows you're replying to a certain person and doesn't give you the option of just replying to the thread in general like most forums. Thats why when i reply if i'm not replying to a specific person i delete thier name out of the title field field. kinda weird the way this forum is configured in several ways. But hey....like the Tbird it's unique.

Well, I guess so much for Triumph's recent philosphy of making just Twins and Triples.

There's a 500 Royal Enfield out there. The 441 Victor was a neat bike but there a lot better dirt bikes out there.
