I am exploring different options for hard bags and am contemplating ammo or mermite cans. Anybody using them on a T-bird? I would either permanently affix them with bungs and stiffer backs or use easy brackets. Thoughts?

They would certainly be rugged enough, I guess it boils down to what you want and the "look" you want.

Interesting idea but not for me.

They are an interesting option for ADV bikes but would look like ass on any pretty cruiser, much less a tbird.

No reason they would not work out. Sort of ugly but practical. Would protect a bit in a tip over.

Get your Easy Brackets from Fast Eddy-there's 2 types of brackets one for the quick release sissy bar.

I think ammo cans would work just fine. Keep in mind that if you fill them full up ammo, you might be pushing the limits of the Easy Brackets. For rain gear or an occasional 6-pack, they would be great.

Would you follow through on the theme with a camo paint job?

Tell me how you really think! Just exploring options. (I tried Marmite once, blech...) Definitely not interested in making a rat bike out of the T-bird, but want to have something minimal to store incidental shit - I was thinking of the 50mm cans, painted glossy black. I am not sure that I want a bagger for my daily commute, but would like to go that route when I am touring. Something like this:

FWIW, I got the bike last night and it is far too classy for anything tacky to be attached to it.
