Has anyone tried mounting Rocket III factory hardbags on a Thunderbird? I'm not thrilled with any of the other aftermarket hard luggage options for the T-Bird. (And Triumph won't wake up and offer the option)

Thanks all,

Mainerider

I've asked the same question. I may go down to dealer with a camera and measuring tape. I think if there not to big, profile is right it would be a bracket modification (maybe easy brackets) and a clamp adaption.
But....price? I'm assuming not cheap.

I'm running Hardstreet slims with easy brackets from Fasteddysports.com. Eddy is great!
I like them but am also liking the rocket bags.

What R3 hard bags? From the touring? The mounting hardware for the TBird is pretty complicated. It can't be the same as the touring. On the other hand you can mount any bag to the TBird with Easy Brackets. Someone mounted Road King or abroad Glide bags to a TBird.

I suspect the fitment issue would be the tail lights.

I've got the Road King Classic on mine as does Eskerinola. (thanks again Eskerinola for the help). What ever aftermarket you go with get rid of those damn factory mountings and go with easy brackets. You can adapt just about anything on them. I looked at the R3 hardbags myself but they are not cheap and then you may need to match paint. I do love my covered bags. No paint, no worries, plenty of room and reasonable. I found new old stock pair on Ebay for $600

Thanks all. I believe the fitment would be an issue with the factory lights.

Also, the price is $1700+ (bags plus mounts)

Little too much for bags...

Think I'll stick with something more traditional.

Anyone try the Tsukayu Strong Hard Bags with the Easy brackets? I like the looks of those over the hardstreets.

I think we have a winner.

Strong bags + Easy brackets.

Thanks all.

I am fitting those bags on my Bird (in painting at mo to Blue and White). The easy brackets were a doddle to fit, although already fitted I have moved them so they fit on the back two fender mounts, this way the brackets are more in the middle of the bag. I am also making a brace bar to go from one to the other to stiffen them up some more.
I don't like having them on the bike but need them for my tours. If I am on my own I get away with a plastic shopping bag.
