Can someone explain the difference (if any) between the original and the long haul rider (solo) seat? The dealership (nice guys, not stealership) here is new (only rep in town and only had Triumphs for less than a year) and does not know for sure... Thanks!

Have a look in his pic album, first page you will see some good pics he took of the two seats side by side. But yes the LH solo is slightly bigger and higher.
This might get it Link

(Re: theSandyBear) | | | Before you spend the money you might spend some time on the dual seat and compare it to the stock seat and see if you like the softer seat. Personally I have a (mostly) stock seat and have done thousands of miles on it and have no complaints at all, others like bigger softer seat. It's all personal choice, but since you already have what is essentially the same thing in dual seat form, you can get a feel for it before ordering.
Be aware, the stock pillion pad will not work with the long haul solo seat. You'd have to get the long haul pillion as well, in case that matters to you.
