I'm not a bagger fan, but there are times that you need some storage space on a ride. I don't really care for the OEM bags, just too big and rigid looking for me, and would really like to find something that's smaller, and easy to ... well ... throw on and take off.

I've seen some throw overs on other bikes that I like, but don't see them on the Birds. Is anyone running them? And if so, what brackets are you using behind them?

I just put these on. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of them on the bike at the moment, but this is the third set I've tried and I love how they look (other two were basic slant bag variants, and I thought they looked like crap). These fit best under the passenger seat. Supposedly you can lengthen the yoke enough to drape them over the seat, but I don't know how that would look. I got the small size, and that hangs nicely over the fencer and sissy bar bracket and a good couple of inches above the pipes. These are definitely keepers.

Willie and Max Revolution Swooped Throwover Saddlebags -- found the best price on Amazon.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Simple, and looks like a good size too. Did you need any brackets for them or does the internal frame keep them out of the wheel?

Yup, they're a nice size. You're not going to go across country with them, but they'll carry extra shirts and gloves and that.

I did need to add support brackets. I got them on eBay, but I can't find them for the Thunderbird at the moment. I shot a note to the person I bought them from to see if they're still selling them. If they are, I'll send you a link. That's the only place I could find them.

Contact this ebay seller about brackets:
sj917_lvwu6397ujjx@members.ebay.com

She's got brackets that look like these for the Thunderbird -- just not listed on eBay any more.
