I ginned up these babies to cover up the gap left by the heat sheilds between the exhaust port and the header falling off. It looks like a pair of weak tack welds is the culprit. Not sure if this is common or I got the only bad welds. Doesn't matter these look way cooler (IMHO).

I heard about these about a week or so ago from another certain "Wisconsin Gentleman" They look great . can you give some more detail on them. are they in split 2 pieces or how are they held in place etc.

Are they going to be a "For Sale Item"?

the are split in two and have 2 stainless screws that hold them clamped to the necked in part of the header pipe. that is the part that is exposed by stock heat shield falling off.

will they be for sale? I don't know. It depends on the 'other gentlemen' and general interest.

Theres another member who was going to do this, tho he was going to use real triumph header clamps and split them or something like that. I was anxiously watching and was going to consider it myself depending on how his turned out. Thats a great job Micah, tho to be honest i really like the look of the real ones. Those look too modern to my eye, but thats just me. They look real well done. Are they just clamped on or is there any thing between them and the pipe like RTV or rubber etc?

they are just clamped onto the undercut in the pipe so they can't really go anywhere. I did put a smear of high temp RTV on the pipe just for good measure. don't know if it is really needed or not. probably not
