I just fitted the Triumph floorboards and controls and could not be happier. I found the leg-out position got sore after a while, but the floor boards bend my knees just right and put them in contact the the tank, plus my back is straighter and my weight goes straight down into the seat.

I'm really, really pleased with the difference these made.

I love mine too. I don't get fatigued like I used to with pegs.

Don't forget floorboards for the passenger. Only thing better is her own bike.!!

I love this forum as it does lack political correctness unlike some other Rodent-like forums where your censored and quickly banned.

So I should have said pillion instead of her. I formally apologize to those I have offended.

Pillion, passenger, cycle slut, same thing. PC my ass! This is a motorcycle forum, not an Al Gore Kumbaya song fest. Get over it if you're offended.

Gentlemen! If I may {ahem} return to the topic of the thread:

Floorboards continue to impress. Is it just my imagination, or has the ground clearance increased? I haven't touched down once with them, whereas with the pegs I frequently got some scraping.

Thanks also to Curtis for helping suggestions on getting used to the heel/toe shifter. I'm getting used to using the heel for upshifts

Got a question , for anyone out there in Tbird land , has anybody tried to fit Rider boards from a America or Speedmaster to a Tbird, and what was the outcome . cos if the 2 other Triumphs do fit the Tbird , then there is a £95 difference , its just that the ones on the Triumph site they look the same .

The height measurements show the pegs to be thicker in general. The top of the pegs are higher than the floorboards and the bottom of the pegs are lower than the floorboards thanks mostly to the wear nubs. So yes, ultimately you will have more clearance with the floorboards and it will be tougher to scrape them on the pavement.

I notice when I arrive at a typical rally all of the HD riders bow down down out of respect. My friend (an HD rider) says that I'm mistaken and that the HD guys are bending over to pick up rocks to throw at me. Thankfully, I have yet to be hit by a rock and if need be I can out run them all.

I wish Curtis would help me by letting me know his suggestions to you, I finally removed the heel shifter and am much happier with even more room for my left foot!

Has anyone else done this and how do you like it?

I removed the heel shifter very soon after I picked mine up, couldn't see the value in it and still don't. Lot's more room for the left foot and helps with fatigue management. Mind you, I also fitted some pegs on the dresser bars so I can also stretch out when I want. Best of both worlds I guess but I spend the majority of time using the floorboards.

Cheers, Max
