A few months after I got my bike I was looking around for aftermarket seats. I showed my wife a picture of the Corbin solo and she said (and I quote) "I guess if you want comfort over style it's ok but it looks like a couch to me". That pretty much settled it for me as I wasn't too keen in the looks either. I've been riding the stock seat now for over 13K miles, with most of my rides being 150-300 miles each. I've also done three 4 day trips over 1200 miles each. My butt gets a little sore, but nothing that makes me miss spending a bunch of money on another seat. I get a rest when I fill up about every 150 miles or stop for lunch anyway. I'm 5'10" and 150 lb so of course my experience may be different than others, but my legs and arms and hands and back are usually equally as sore as my butt on longer rides. If I wanted total comfort I'd tour in a Cadillac. I also reposition myself frequently and on longer rides I'll put my feet back on the passenger pegs to shift my weight around at times. Helps a lot.

Now if someone came out with a great looking saddle that was a lot more comfortable I might be interested, but to me the Corbins and RDL seats just look like they belong on a full dresser.

Reggae I have the Corbin solo seat and backrest and have done 5,000 Kim's and the "airflow" issue does not exist. I have no idea why it started. I think it was just someone surmising that it might be a problem and it grew its own truth from there. Trust me, there is no issue.

I dont have any info on the corbin seat, but I've had my stock seats redone on my other bikes by spencer @ greatdaytoride.com, he does top notch work for a very reasonable price.

I have the Triumph long haul solo seat fitted now on the bike, and although it is much more comfortable than stock, I like the position of the stock seat making me feel like i am sitting more "in" the bike, and to add the fact that at 5'7" I need all the ground clearance I can get (the Triumph seat is slightly higher and wider than stock)

If anyone is interested in buying my Triumph long haul solo seat, PM me, its for sale in the classifieds.

I had my stock seat done at Spencer's also and I like it a lot. I usually go from fill up to fill up without stopping unless I need a bathroom break. He narrows the front and will put the gel where you want it. The turnaround time was only about 4 days and the work is very good. The riders and pillion seat cost about $100 plus shipping and it was well worth the price.
