Since we have been talking about handlebars as well here, I have the T-Bars installed now.
I find them more comfortable than the stock ones, a more upright position.
Yesterday I tried out the Storm (just sitiing on it at the dealer) and those bars seemed less comfortable to me, I think they are less wide than the T-Bars.

Concerning the lights, I ordered a 2012/late 2011 America headlight which has the double fixings and fit staight on the bird.
I might have it tomorrow if all goes well.

The light was installed today but I haven't seen it yet, I'm going to pick up the bike on Tuesday.
I just called though. What was installed is a late 2011/2012 America headlight.
You need the whole kit together with the fixing bracket that attaches to the lower yoke because that bracket is much wider than the one that's on your T-Bird. Cost is over 500€ from the Triumph dealer.
There was no need to change anything to the cabling.

That said, as I told when I first joined this forum, this is my first chopper.
I have been wanting a chopper forever but never bought one but I really liked the looks of the T-Bird.
Even though the T-Bird is known as the best handling chopper there is, it doesn't come anywhere near what i use to ride: sport-touring, nakeds and enduros.
I just can't get used to easy riding, taking turns much wider etc...
So I'm going to be selling this beauty with pain in th heart.
It's going to be replaced with the upcoming R1250GS.

It's sad you can't get on with the bird, I sympathise with you as I feel much the same but cannot justify the loss of money to sell it on so I am trying to find ways around the problems I am having. Good luck with your new bike

Thanks for the reply marlboro man, if you could let us know your thoughts on the light when you see it fitted and if there is/was any issues with the install to consider (photo & part number/s perhaps?) would be great. Cost may be prohibitive for me but i'm pondering it. Hope all go's well with the new bike. Wal

Here are some pics.
According to the dealer nothing had to be changed electrically.
He did have to modify the bracket a bit since the light ould be too close to the fram otherwise.
I don't have any part numbers, this version of the America light isn't on Worldoftriumph yet, but it's the late 2011/2012 America headlight.
Looks a lot better to me.

It does not look bad Earlier I thought it to be too big but now I'm not so sure anymore. What did it cost?

Thanks for the info and pics MM looks good. I think the bracket issue can be solved with an adapter that fast eddy sells, but all up it looks like at least a $500ish mod to do so it'll go on the back burner for a while.

The price for the headlight without installing was over 500 Euro but I got it for 480 Euro. Not sure what they charged for installation though as I had the first maintenace after BB install done as well.

IMO it looks a lot better than the standard light, less space around it so you don't see much of the frame and cables anymore.
I put the bike up for sale in the Beemer garage. Sad because it's such a beautiful bike and I'll loose quite a bit of money but keeping it while I prefer to ride a totally different type of bike is not much use either.

I'll make a post here as well along with some other nice Triumph gear I bought. I was fully equipped. ;)
