| | Posted : 09 Jul 2012 - 22:11 Post title : New Thunderbird Bar End Weights | | | I've been working with Sue at HVMP in Putnam Valley New York on fitting their Bar End Weights to the Thunderbird. I now have a set of their Heavy 17 ounce weights on my 2010 T-Bird with OEM Heated Grips and they fit and look perfect. These suckers are heavy, they also have a slightly shorter and lighter 14 Ounce version. The finish on mine are Brushed Stainless, I'm not sure if a Black finish is available or not.
Here is the link to the web site for those interested please email them, they are very quick to respond to inquires and the price is right on these bad boys!! Throw those useless stock end caps away and get a set of these to tame your buzz.

No they now have a model specific to the T-Bird models. It's not on their web site yet but probably will be soon. Just email them for the T-Bird part # and price. They'll know why your asking as I just finished testing this new part for them today.

Did you have any issues with the install? Any tricks/tips we might need to know about?
Thanks for your time and patience in testing for the rest of us.
Don't have heated grips.......they do work with stock grips?

Took about 5 minutes total to remove old/install new. Took a long ride through town and down the highway to make sure I covered different speeds to test. I was amazed they made such a significant difference. Didn't really think I had any vibration until I installed the new weights. I had no idea there was that much vibration in my bars. The bar ends along with foam grip covers, I now have a smoother ride with absolutely no hand tingling or "tired hands" after a ride.

I haven't had any problems with them breaking as some seemed to have experienced so far. However I took mine apart and lubricated the cables and end balls where they fit into the grip with Graphite and also made sure the cable play adjustment was correct.

We've been blessed to have great customers, meet lots of great people, and provide what we feel is an exceptional product at an exceptional price.
We love working with customers to come up with a new model, even if it is sometimes difficult balancing our real lives and this business. Just ask and we'll let you know what we can and can't do.
Ride safe, HVMP
