When we fixed one, we got a couple of zip ties, put the cable barrel (nipple) back in the broken slot where it should be and put the zip ties around the cicumferance each side of the wire and over the nipple to hold it in - its still there a year later.

It is a crappy bit of plastic.

DizzEs way looks like a good preventative method.

Can anyone post a photo of the broken grip. I have ordered a set and would like to make the mod Dizze mentioned before installation.

Cheers

There are some photos in my album, but if you haven't taken off the switch cube an explaintion is just words.

The problem is the cable barrel is only held by a pair of thin plastic hooks. The cable rides between.

That pair of hooks are opposite to the pair that hold the other cable barrel. The throttle off cable.

This entire thing forms a block about 8mm high, 5 mm wide and maybe 12 mm long.

Since the OFF cable is fine, I wired the On calble to the OFF cable with stainless steel wire. But, I had to go around the side of the block. So, to make a bit more room, I took a drimmel to the inside of the case where the wire scatched a mark.

Hard to explain and hard to get a picture of that makes sense.

Others have used a little driil to make holes in the edge of the grip north of the block and tied the ON cable to the grip with wire.

How they get you, of course, is you can't get just the throttle side grip.

Thanks DizzE, I've got it now!
