| | Posted : 27 May 2012 - 18:25 Post title : OEM floor boards and shifter kits | | | I just ordered the "Classic" Triumph floor boards and shifter kit from Triumph and was wanting someone to give me a little feedback or your opinions on them on the Storm!
I know that I'm not a great fan of the standard pegs and shifter on the bike, so off I go to try the floorboards.
I need to know what others think of the foot positions and ease of keeping feet on the floorboards and if the driving comfort is better or worse and maybe even something about ground clearance?
I just ordered yesterday and with the Holiday it will probably be Tuesday before they are shipped. In the mean time I would appreciate anyone running them on the Storm now could give my some Pro and Cons!
Just got out of the hospital for a foot operation and just couldn't stand it, I ordered them ($404.83) and a new Aria "Passion" helmet.
It was on a closeout price....regular $750.00 and I snagged the exact one and color I was looking at for $350.00! Talk about luck!

Plenty of clearence in the twisties you can move youre feet around on long trips, it is just such a relaxed riding posisition. Have them also for pilion . the brake pedel is so much better also a lot more feel and you get more pressure with a large pedel. hope this helps if you want to see them installed check out my pic in my photos page ....... hope this helps ............KIWI

My Black Byrd came with the floorboards and toe-heel shifter, as the previous owner had them installed, so I cannot compare them to the original pegs. I will say they are very comfortable and I love the heel shifter, as I never miss a shift--just drop that heel down and youre there! As previously commented, the large brake pedal is nice with good pressure. I have noticed the floorboards will drag a bit on slow turns at intersections sometimes. Perhaps I'm more aggressive in my riding style, but if I have any fault with the Tbird it seems it sits rather low and I have dragged the floorboard on some twisties. I'm sure you will love the floorboard setup. Happy cruising.

Awesome, I makes me feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. Cant wait for them to arrive and get them installed!
I noticed what appeared to be a Rocket III style windscreen in one of your pictures. Is that what it is?
I found one of them on eBay for less than $400.00 and installed it about 3 weeks ago. So far I really like the 'looks' of the screen, but there is some buffeting at speed that I need to adjust out or maybe install a Laminar Lip to easy the air stream. Remains to be tried yet!
I had a clear fly screen on the bike that was made for the two Storm headlights, but I ride year around and I need a winter type windscreen in my arsenal of accessories.

Hey BlackByrd! Thanks for the re-enforcement of the apprehensions I had about the boards.
I have to be careful and not wear shorts when riding for it would expose that my cock hangs below my knee.
OR.................maybe it just shows that I know how to choke my chicken!

I received the boards and shifter kit at 12:00 noon today and was riding 2 hours after starting to install. I love them so far. Much more comfortable and they have a leisurely feel when on the road that I haven't experienced before with the pegs.
I guess the next thing is going to be the Long Haul seat? Or maybe I will put the front case savers on first.
