Not a problem with the Nads - I just bundle 'em up and sling 'em over my shoulder.

The LH seat sits about 1 1/2'' higher than the stock.

The women I have worked with, lived with and loved with have conspired to deminish the size of my "man package" to the extent that I no longer have any issues of discomfort in that area.

Who would have thought that emasculation could prove beneficial in the long run?

I could even ride a Harley and still not suffer in that area. However my self esteem may feel like it's been kicked in the balls.

Matt does that extra 1 1/2" have any detrimental effect on handling characteristics when compared with stock seat in your opinion ?

Bit of an open ended question I realise, just trying to get a feel if anyone has noticed any significant "feel" changes. I'm not talking comfort level here...obviously

No. Non that I could tell. Only being able to sit in the seat for longer means I can do a 480 mile or 10hrs in the seat with no problem.

Doesn't having you nads slung over your shoulder for 10 hours at a time get a bit uncomfortable.?

I won't believe it until it has been officially denied.

if your a proper size man you will have no issues as you have height to sit relaxed without cramping your package, its just these shorties that have to sling or adjust as they try to reach the bars
you could always buy the leather tank pouch to put it in if you had an issue

i noticed no difference in seat height regarding performance, whichever way you ride her on it its all good.

Maybe you have Taxi Driver syndrome? Seriously. Epididymitis. The very top of the testicle has it and it can get irritated or even carry
a low level infection form a sore throat.

I can speak for myself and my wife in regards to the Triumph Long Haul seat-

The extra height is not noticeable in any manner in terms of handling characteristics. The LH seat is a bit softer than the stock seat, and I dont think the 1 1/2 in is a true measurement once you sit down on the seat with regards to where your crotch is in relation to the ground.

As far as comfort goes, it is better than the stock seat without question. It is softer and allows your backside to disburse your weight better and thus reducing fatigue. I think the worst bike seat ever made was on the Kawa Vulcan 900 Classic LT, it was like sitting on a piece of plywood. The stock seat for the T-Bird is far better than the 900 Classic LT, and the LH seat for the T-Bird is that much better than the stock seat on the T-Bird.

Wifey likes either seat FAR better than the 900 LT, there is no doubt. She really has not gotten to ride too far on the LH seat just yet. But on the shorter 60-90 mile rounds trips she has said multiple times that "her butt likes this seat much better". BTW, she is dang near 6ft tall and weighs 170-ish (Size 12-14), she is no tiny or petite woman but no beached whale either.

I was able to work in the price of the LH seat in the purchase of the bike. I bought my 2011 T-Bird new in May of 2012, and Triumph had a promotion of some sort on buying a '11 model T-Bird and get all kinds of free accessories. I traded in most of that stuff for credit towards the LH seat AND rider backrest.

Truth be told, I think proper posture and a rider backrest goes a LONG way in how comfortable your backside is during your ride. YMMV.

I notice when I arrive at a typical rally all of the HD riders bow down down out of respect. My friend (an HD rider) says that I'm mistaken and that the HD guys are bending over to pick up rocks to throw at me. Thankfully, I have yet to be hit by a rock and if need be I can out run them all.

No problems here with that seat. I have the dual long haul seat that came standard on my model. A bit old in the tooth, but can ride in this saddle for a full day without being unduly sore or tired. This seat is well under one inch taller than the standard seat and does not seem to affect the ride at all. I would suggest people try a cushion or well-constructed gel pad before modifying a seat. Also, there may be medications to reduce swelling for those with a prostate gland problem. Often, prostate swelling is due to benign hyperplasia and the sucker can be reamed out. Sounds horrible, but no real pain with the surgery and patients are usually released the same day to go home. It is like coring an apple, except you core out the center and leave the rest of the apple. Sorry to be so graphic, but I always did get a bit uncomfortable when a doctor came at me with just one glove on.

I agree with Curt.I too have the LH seat, which came standard on my SE,but added a Butt Buffer [ gel pad cushion I used on my last scooter] and have driven for a solid 200 miles without any discomfort on my back side, what so ever.Stopped, got off it,stretched my legs, and got right back on for another 200 miles without any issues with my back side. However, after 150-180 miles, the calfves in my legs seem to cramp alittle, but nothin I couldn't handle, or a pair of highway pegs wouldn't cure. So,IMO,the LH seat is way to go if you can negoitate a deal when buying a brandy new conventional bird.Dave!!!

SmokinLoon.. I had the Vulcan 900 previously too. (Oh, that reminds me.. I still have it.. must get rid it!!) If anyone has a problem with the T-Bird seat, they should spend a few days on that brick from the 900!

Another question, has anyone put on the driver backrest
On the longhaul seat? Put mine on and even on number one
Setting it pushes me to far forward I think I can
Take it apart and grind off a little of where the stalk meets
The adjustment dial. Has anyone done this?

#1 setting is too far forward? Wow. Are you 7ft tall?

I'm 73in and have long arms, and I use #2 or #3 probably %90 of the time. The other %10 I use #1 to "lounge" back a bit. Are you sure you have the base set all the way in to the seat and all 4 bolts tight? I cant even imagine #1 being too far forward for anyone because on my bike it is leaning behind the perpendicular plane of the rear of the front seat, it truly is leaning slightly backwards and behind where your belt would be.

I cant speak for everyone and I do not know what the weight/stress rating is of that long haul driver back rest, but I would hesitate really leaning back in to for a full relaxed ride. There really isnt a lot of material there to support the stress. Obviously, it is different for 250lb guys like me vs a fellow who weighs 165lbs.

The best thing for me is that it gives me just a wee bit of support to help keep my back straight and when need be be able to rest backwards just enough to take the edge off the tension. I like being able to lean forward slightly during a ride and adjust the setting.

I'm an even 6 feet and also have the Triumph's factory back rest.I run it on either the #1 or #2 setting on the wheel and don't have any problems with being cramped or uncomfortable.I would imagine if you're one of those guys who stand 6'6 or better, you probably would be cramped. So it's probably time to get one of the big touring machines as they have more room for larger riders. Yep!! I'm six two and on number one it was pushing me forward, so I took it my marine trimmer and asked him to take half of the padding thickness off................... perfect
