I agree with ya Todd. But,after dropping that one pound and driving it for a few hundred miles, the squaring hasn't gotten any worse and appears to be returning to its original round shape again as I can barely feel the edge where it was starting to square off.So I must have done somethin right!! I know!! Hard to believe, ain't it??? DUH!! DUMMY Dave!!!

Dave - I may have a solution for you. Last Tuesday, Dave Grey - local racer, had his Daytona 675 race bike at my dealer. I noticed that the sides of his tires are considerably more worn that the middle. So I think you need to mount of a set of 675 wheels with racing tires to your Tbird. Whatcha think?

Sounds good to me Todd, ,if I have the problem. But at the moment, believe it or not,the tire does appear to have stopped squaring in the center since I dropped that one pound and is actually lookin pretty good wearing evenly across the whole tread pattern and NOT in the middle like the others did. We'll see!! Dave!!!

Heres a news flash. I've been thinking my storm ultra seems to be on track to as much as double the mileage i got with metzelers. Well, i looked at them today not even 1000 miles after i said that and it now looks worn to the point i may get no more than the metz ! I could be wrong, but i swear till now they hardly seemed any different than they were new. Now the wear bars are only maybe the thickness of a dime away ! I hope I'm wrong but it doesn't look like it. I can't believe this. It's as tho they put a harder rubber over a softer rubber and when i wore thru the hard layer it began wearing 3X faster. (no, not suggesting thats the case, just seems that way) I hope the cobra i just mounted on the front does better than this.

So i may well be looking at those Michelins next time around. Thats always been my #1 for my cars so I'd really like to try them if they have our size fro the rear. If not, i don't know what i'll get.

Bridgestone Exedra should be available shortly. According to E-mail from Bridgestone UK they are currently undergoing TYPE Approval. They'll contact me shortly when they have a confirmed date. I've volunteered to test a pair for them and publish a review.

I've read so many negative reviews on bridgestones on various triumphs, it's the last tire i'd try. I want mileage but not at the cost of safety, and it was the handling that the negative reviews were always about. Dunlop also has gotten a lot of bad reviews.

But which model Daz? You have to be a little more specific before you berate a whole brand. Case it in point, I had OEM Dunlops on my Honda VTX and they were horrible, however, I have a Dunlop RoadSmart on the back of the Bird, the second one as a matter of fact. I am very happy with the tire, with the sole exception of mileage. I have only been able to get 8,000 miles out of it. I have been to Sturgis and back, through wicked rainstorms riding twisties in the Blackhills etc with the tire. No issues of handling, braking, etc. Again the only reason I am trying something else is I want more mileage. I have Michelin Commander on order.

Daz: I too ran a couple of the Avon Ultra's and was also disappointed with them. The first one lasted 8500,not bad but still no bargain, but the next two barely made 6500 with canvas showing,so needeless to say,I'm done with the Avons too.At present,I'm runnnin Dunlop's American Elite [V rated] and so far so good. But it's still too early to tell just how long it's gonna go.The handling seems fine,so it's the longivity that I'm now lookin for.

I also have an Exedra in stock for my back up tire which is what I'll be putting on the rear once the Dunlop wears, but again,we'll have to wait and see. Dave!!!

It's like a roll of toilet paper - the closer to end you get, the faster it goes

So far it doesn't show much wear, but I only have about 2500 miles on. Also, I got close to 14,000 on my last Metzeler on the front wo I'm not sure I'm the best test case.
