Bugger -- This ended up in the wrong place. If anyone can change it.

Really chuffed (English meaning for happy) with my new Speedmaster light transplant. Makes the front end look like it should have been all along. As I was an 'early' Dart screen owner, which I modified from a Bonnie screen - it fits the light perfect.

Thanks of course to Ivan who kindly donated it to the 'Mats Tbird parts appeal' - and anyone is welcome to donate

No prob ... guess it goes in accessories.

Any chance of a side view?

Looks like a good fit. Problem is a side shot is probably the best for seeing the difference.

I'm a big fan of the original light and think it makes the bike. However, for the right look I can see changing it. Was it a straight swap for you?

Where did you plan on this post being?

I had posted it in 'off topic' - I must have blacked out for a min or two (usually out for hours )(thanks Bedouin)

Ten minute job - everything fits as the original. It looks much better in the flesh.

Sean posted his Bird with the same light - so side pick may be in his folder. Not to mention Ivans picks of course with that very light on.

I allways had a bit of a problem with the looks of the original - too small and too long. If I could get away with it I wouldn't have a light at all - the bird looked great without a light.

Well done Mat.
Think they look so much more in balance with this light than the older standard one. Noticed they fit the TBird size light to the speedy now.

The bike stands out more and nighttime viz I reckon is improved.

Side shot of the lamp Thatch but would be better to have a pic without the spots.

As Sean says better at throwing out light.

Good on ya Mat, shame we didn't catch up this weekend to see it in person.

Seeing yours and Ivans in the flesh convinced me. Real happy with the result.

Ah - now I look at it again I have forgotten to include the 'funny no taste Florida pic'. So my apologies to any Floridians that may have felt peronally insulted.

This comes with trying to multitask - operating a PC and trying to stay on my chair with a skinfull of fine Yorkshire beer.

are those side brackets for light or the screen? If not, does it just bolt up to the bottom like the stock light?

I'm contemplating going with a smaller light as it might suit the new paint scheme better, but I think I'll have to go smaller, both depth and diameter.....

The brackets are for the screen. The light was a straight swap - I just had to take the locating pin out of the lower yolk. I would have liked a small snug fitting light - but am happy with this. Have you got one sorted?

I'm a fan of the original light as well, but am not a fan of the pathetic amount of light it produces. I do a lot of riding at light and would consider a change for that reason alone. I understand form over function when it comes to a motorcycle, but being able to see the road at night trumps that for me

+1 - The bigger light should nicely take all the fittings for my intended HID light unit.

Agreed, but Nars' post on the HID swap will sort that for you. That should make all the light you need. I don't ride at night much so I've not been bothered with it personally, but if I stick with the original light I will do the upgrade.
