I'd love to see a full on side shot of the bike to see how it works and balances with the rest of the bike.
As for the full on blackout ... I have my doubts there. I think you'll end up with too much black up front. That's the big problem the storms have (IMHO) there isn't any contrast the just become one big black muddy thing. I feel the same way with guys that go mad with chrome and they 'bedazzle' the whole bike, it's like painting a car with pin-stripe tape. I think a nice balance and movement of color and highlight across a bike is what works best. Might think of adding a 2nd (or 3rd if you count chrome as a color ... and I think you can) color to the bike, touches or red, gold, white whatever.
Anywho, those are just my thoughts. Hell, I would of thought I'd not like the gaiters so what the hell do I know....

Ta. P.S. Do I detect scratches on your side engine cover? I've got a complaint in to Triumph about this based on the soft surface not being fit for purpose. It seems like one of those cheapo metalised surfaces i.e. lacquer/aluminium/lacquer, only good enough for indicators and the like and not right by your boot.

Source?
BTW...........Im with Thatch, more black would take away from the look not add to it. Just my 2 cents.

Got them from J&P Cycles in Iowa..... part nr 220-533 black fork boots long 49mm...suit harley dyna wide glide apparently,,,i had to wrap some tape around the fork tube up top as the boots are slightly bigger 49mm and tube 47mm no probs. Also had to trim 3/8 inch off bottom to fit smoothly to the fork leg, you,ll see a raised inner section on the boots bottom which is meant to fit into a recess which our forks dont have and then just used cable ties to fit..took just over an hour to do the whole job....
Only gonna do the forks and calipers, wheel and disc is staying stock (polished)......
There is some dirt on the right side cover but yes there is also some scuffing, thought it was my boots at first but realized its my trousers leg flapping around...grrr, bike has 15000 kms up so i guess its just wear and tear, not happy though.
Fitted the gaiters because i,m going across australia and back and its gonna be a 15,17000 km trip all up and dont want to be stranded by a rock damaging the tube and then the seal as i,m gonna be in some very isolated places at times...just a bit of insurance..
I was in two minds about the look but like the cowling (which smooths out the airflow slightly) its there more for function than form but after fitting them i was pleasantly surprised..i like em Besides i can always take em back off when i get back if i want..no biggie, cheers, Tadpole

Not the absence of it, just like a bike to say function and utility more than it says flash and sparkle. I'd also vote to see the full side shot of the bike with the gaiters on. I know you're using them for a purpose and your bike will probably be all bagged out for your trip, but I'm guessing they will look better without bags. Let us know how they work out for you though. And of course, have a safe and fun journey.

Looks like it's going in the general direction of the 1950's / 1960's look.... I'd be tempted to think about white walled tyres/tires to fit the look.

Question - how hard is it to get the front fork lowers off for the powdercoat?
I assume you take off the wheel, remove the fender and calipers ... and then? Are there seals that need replacing after they are removed?
Great job Tadpole,
