I transferred my kuryakyn iso pegs (large) from the speedy to the bird, needed an 8mm washer to take up the gap, been there for nearly 2 years and they are all good, had to get adaptors to fit the rears.they are the same as the rocket uses. If you need part numbers etc pm me, cheers, Tadpole

I got a set of Kuryakyn Switchblade footpegs from Fast Eddy, and really like them. I find them more comfortable than the stock pegs even when folded, and it's nice to deploy the stirrup for more foot positions on longer rides. The spacer that Fast Eddy sells to make them fit more snugly on the T-Bird are worth the small extra layout, too.

In your quest you will see some folks who have Kuryakyn SwingWings and you will be told they will work. They USED to work. Kuryakyn changed the foot peg to a peg needing a splined adapter (and kept teh same part number) and there currently is not an adapter that has been confirmed to work and the ones that I have tested are no where near workable. But that is the only one that has changed and that is the SwingWing. The ISO and Switchblades and Retro's and some of the others still work.

Mate did you end up doing anything with the pegs?
Does anyone have any feedback on the swing wings?
Eddy I notice you have these on your site with 8840 adapters, so do I assume that they are a go, despite what you have said above?
I'm just looking for some more comfort for my long legs for the bigger rides without going to highway pegs.

I am also looking for a bit more stretched out position without having to go to dresser bars and highway pegs
These look ideal if they fit our Birds
Will be watching this thread intently

I've got the Natonal, I think the DART is a bit bigger so will probably give you some extra wind pressure relief.
I've pm'd Eddy re the pegs, so I'm sure he will be on soon and sort out my question.
Have you thought about Tumbarumba?

| | Posted : 28 Jan 2012 - 07:26 Post title : Re: Replacement footpegs (Re: Lethal) | | | I have installed the swing wing pegs last summer. The feed back is mitigated regarding my expectations:
As Eddy mentioned, I do not used the triumph (8440) adapter but the 8814 one's (for Yamaha, with splines). Mounting is easy, but I need to add 2 or 3 washers (stainless steel) to eliminate some room and improve fitting. Still not perfect, with a different between left and right pegs
Regarding the fitting I have found some problem to choose the right orientation: too horizontal: nice feet position, but the swings are too far when opened for highway trip. And if I had some angle, then I have not enough room to manipulate the gear shift ... Changing its orientation help a little, but I was not liking to make larger amplitude to change gears.
A gear shift with an excentric may be a solution. I am going to see how I feel after the winter break, but I was seriously thinking to go back to stock ones.

One of my concerns with them was whether there was enough grip available on the folded out section, and also the angle of the whole set up.Your photos are valuable, as all the ones on different websites are mostly the same and are taken as a part only. Also I believe that you can't fold them back on the move, which may present a problem on corners.
May I ask how tall you are?

Good day Leethal,
Grip seems Ok for me, but probably dependent of the sole shoes... You have to stop to fold them... One time I don't do it after the hight way, ... but I did it immediately after the first turn..... Yes you can ask.... 1.82m

I am 189cm. I have just read through some older posts and information on the site and cornering seems to be a problem, so that alone may turn me away from using them. Looks like I'm slowly getting pushed towards highway pegs and bars

made up my own extension pegs and at the same time lifted them up a bit to give more ground clearance because the extension took away some...From the footpeg plate to the end of peg is now 7.5 inches and ground to bottom, when upright is now app.11.5 inches..The reason in the first place i did was to get my calf away from the hot clutch cover and it works great.I ride the bike fairly aggressively and it is seldom i scrape now..If i want that bit more then the body lean comes into it..Also i angled the peg up a tad to stop the foot from wanting to slide a bit on long trips..All in all very happy with the result..All it cost was a few welding rods and a bit of left over steel...

| I finaly keep them but change the gear shifter peg to the kuryakyn ISO long horn one's. It is better (at least for me) with the gear sifter now. And it is looking nicely:
