I'll put up a separate thread for videos and include the links in there. I'm not sure what all the naysayers are screeching about. This bike is cool!

And look at that, you get a choice of covers for the clutch side. Some have 104 cube, the one above has Thunderbird, and there is of course a plain one. But these look like they bolt on rather than stick on. Now how cool is that?
And look the passenger peg is situated more underneath the drive for an alternative placement built right it! Looks like they have been paying attention eh?

I was hoping to pop over there and get ourselves a decent set of pictures of the T-Bird. I have though, in the meantime, been harassing our source to get us a weight estimate and/or other specs.
I read over at BA that someone who visited the factory reckons that the bike is slightly bigger than ours is, but I had already posted that info (from our source) several weeks ago. Pity since he was inside the factory he didn't get any weight/specs.

Of course, I'm still wondering why they singled out the headlight on the R3T too. Thats one thing that set some of the triumphs apart, and ain't the company motto still, Go your own way? I think I'll put two headlights on mine just to set it off. The more I look at the pictures tho, the more I see why my son likes that blue solo setup. Man, ain't that just my luck, I like the black one, wife already said white, ( I ain't told her yet its silver), and my son wants a blue one. Good thing this family has more than 1 income. Son can pay for his own. Wife can pay for hers, and I STILL get a black one Now, how do I break this to them? Is there any other color options available? I've still got a daughter at home that ain't laid claim to nothin yet..

The first (like TRIUMPHTWIN'S above) gives an indication of size.
And the a couple more pictures of the engine.
Contrary to what I see some of the naysayers babbling about, I think that engine looks very cool.

According to one of the first magazine articles on the upcoming Thunderbird, There will be a 1700 cc dealer option which I assume to be a piston and liner kit.
Stock not quit 1600 is about 97.8 cubic inches. Thats about 140 + cc larger than a stock HD.
HD to Triumph

Actually the T-Bird specs at 1597 cc (97.45 cubic inches) and the Harley big twin specs at 1584 cc (96.66 cubic inches). A difference of 13 cc.
Of course Harley factory Screaming Eagle kits will take theirs up to 110 cubic inches, the same engine used in over the counter CVO bikes.
Enjoy the 'Bird for what it is.

Just don't leave that number at '13'... Next you'll be telling me that you will be collecting it on Friday the 13th! Man - 13 is not a good number! Try 14, 15, 16, or even 17

Like your list though! Some nice stuff on there. I'll be getting my wheels polished - turns out a tad cheeper and to be honest, I've seen the Chrome wheels and didn't like the fact that the sides of the spokes are not flat polished chrome - it's more 'rough'. I would have expected that they are smooth like a mirror on each and every side!
Those chrome forks look good!
Got the... - Billet Filler cap - nice, although people have said that it's tricky to then open the tank. I don't find it that way. - Chrome switch housing and levers - simply a must! - Chrome single seat rack pressed - like the rear 'Triumph Motorcycles' bolt/badge on it. - Chrome cover 'Thunderbird' - again, a must - unless you are qualified to have the 104 ccm version
Not going for the chrome end weights as I'm installing some RIZOMA Contact Grips. I've also ordered/got... - Chrome water manifold. - Chrome Triumph Oil Filler Cap. - TT Bars - wont arrive till mid December here. - Chrome Clutch Lever
I'll be keen to see a photo of your setup with the footboards...

I saw the speckled sides of the chrome wheels and I like it. I have been in the car wheel business for over 20 years now and this type of finish is common. It gives the wheel a certain roughness which I like.
Since you mention the chrome switch housing, that I do not like. To me the switch gear assembly belongs to the hand grips design wise, they are black, the switch gear should be black too. Furthermore the switches themselves stay black even if you go for chrome. That really is out of the question for me. They stick out like ugly warts on the chrome finish. I know I am alone on this. But diversity makes for a colorful world so in the end it's all good !
