I know I'm about to get SCREWED! I'm sure it will be $300.00+ but next time I'm changing it myself. The belt looks like it needs adjustment, the bike now has 2,200 miles. I hope this will be the last belt adjustment because I don't know how to do it myself.

Did my first belt adjustment over the weekend. It's really not that bad, and did not have to use the special service tool. Read the SM as a guide, then equally adjusted both sides by counting the "flats" on each adjuster nut as I tightened them. Have a look at some of Daz's earlier comments on the subject.

You must have a friend or know someone who is knowledgable about motorcycles.Have him help and show you the procedure, the do's,the don'ts,and any short cuts.Then buy a few neccessary tools and a shop manual.They'll pay for themselves many times over once ya know how to use em.Take notes.Ask questions.That's the only way you're gonna learn.It's really not that difficult to do,once ya know how. If ya don't atleast try,then you'll always be at the mercy of these incompetent and unscrupilous dealerships. If you lived anywheres near me,I'd show ya myself.Dave!!!
