| | Posted : 07 May 2011 - 09:08 Post title : Ideas please - what to do with Stock Pipes. | | | Long story - when I purchased my (black) tbird I got Tors. I left the old pipes with the dealer along with the stock air filter.
They are now in the back of my car because the dealer was having a clean out.
SO I have a brand new set of stocks.
Any ideas/suggestions what I can do with them.
Youngest daughter asked me to fit them to her bike - Kawasaki GPX - but somehow I don't think that is going to work - the pipes probably weigh more than her bike!
Give me your suggestions (please keep them clean).

Well that rules me out then...
--------------------------------------------------------
Personally I keep all my stock parts so I can take the bike back to stock form if/when I trade it in or sell it for a new bike. Accessories on a bike are like swimming pools for houses. They are great to have but add nothing to the value of the property. I strip them when it comes time to sell (not such an easy thing to do with a swimming pool)

Check the latest issue of Triumph Magazine.
Seek out another pair and turn them into legs for a designer Bar Stool..

(Re: Farkinott) | | | after punching out the baffles drill two holes in your front door one eye level the other mouth level fix one to the uppoer anad one to the lower hole as these a very long pipes from your lounge you then use the upper one to see who is there and with the lower one speak to them you can do this without missing your tv program
alternatively
drill out the baffles cut a new rear length with a customised curve or line to suit your tastes roll or crimp the edges you now have two individualised straight through shorties

I picked mine up from the dealer and he was a little surprises. He said most people don't come back for them. Like he said they have an intrinsic value but since no one wants them their extrinsinsic value is zero. I'm paraphrasing. More along the lines of fecking pipes should be worth something but they aint. Mine are being used as dust collectors in the back of the garage. Perish the thought but should I ever sell it they will go to a new home to be dust collectors.
Cut them up to make legs on a bespoke coffee table, hang them from the wall as some kind of trophy. Bottom line is no one wants them except the next buyer of your bike. Stock bikes always sell for more so being able to throw those pipes in will help. LOL, like anyone bitten by the bug sells a thunderbird

I like the idea of having the stock parts in case it helps someday for collectibility of the bike in 50 years when it is an antique.
