Just wondering. We Aussies are never too fond of "blowing our own trumpets" but we can prove that we have had twelve Thunderbirds in the one spot at the one time. See Aus Members 100 thread for photographic evidence.

There may have been more TBirds in some of the massed gatherings overseas but this meeting was almost exclusively for TBirds. We did have one Triumph Sprint with us but someone had to take the photos!

If not a world record gathering of Thunderbirds maybe it was a world record of Thunderbird1600 forum members meeting in the one spot. Twelve members, three partners and a friend. (We should have had thirteen but one member was too ill to show at the track.)

Can anyone else prove me wrong?

If not: there's your challenge!

I've tryed a couple of times to gather some interest in a T-bird rally here in the states but have gotten no responce. My part of the country is all flat corn fields, you go a mile then turn left or right then go a mile and so on not a good area for a get together.I'd be up for a rally about any where given enough lead time.I know it could be alot of work, good on you Aussys for makeing it happen. I suppose part of our reluctance is the fact that their are so many rallys to attend here in the states.

Tis a damn fine flock of Birds. Well done lads.

We now know what we have to beat. Shouldn't be hard given our small island. We did get to eight birds at one point with little effort.

Nice to see that line up.

Since the blue/white ones are already at the finish...why not take a nap waiting for the black one's to show up

Hi Ninox_s, I'm just wondering if, to extend the challenge a bit, we could combine the distance travelled to get there and make it a "numbers + total distance to gather" World Record. I'll start off; I clocked up 723kms for the round trip excluding the Sunday ride of 166kms. Steve would have been a bit further than me and your marathon 2,500+kms gives us almost 4,000kms just between three of us. Now if only a couple of blokes from Perth and Brisbane could have made it .

What about the rest...

Cheers, Max

According to my odometer I did 2,522.3 Kilometers: garage to garage.
Biggest day was Bathurst to Maroopna with about 740 klicks.
Best stretch of road: Oberon to Goulburn (Not counting the Mt Panarama Circuit.)
Worst stretch: St Arnaud to Horsham even without the $239.00 speeding fine.
(If the road had been more interesting I may have kept closer to the limit!)
Biggest Thrill: Riding the Circuit
Best Bit Overall: Saturday Dinner- Nice meal with new instant friends.

We will probably have a much bigger total to break next year. (I can't imagine the POMs letting us keep the record for too long.) Thats why I'd suggest Albury-Wodonga area for next years meet. Close enough for Sydneysiders, Melbournians and a few "Crow Eaters" as well. Close to some fantastic riding and spectacular scenery.

If we do go to Walcha as someone suggested, Brad I want the best room!! And an Unplugged Band that finishes around mid-night at the latest.

Max,

Walcha is about 75 klm from Tamworth, so add another 150 klm to mine
Brad's is 1,176 klm then.
