Hi all , haven't done enough k's on the storm but did replace my speedy Metzlers with an Avon venom X rear and a Michelin pilot 2 front and was now able to keep up with the Bonnies in the tight stuff with complete confidence , which I never had with the Metzlers always felt that the front was about to let go particular in the damp.
So I don't think there is any problems with mixing brands provided u use a good brand.
Cheers Wasp

You guys using Avon Storms, are you using the Cobra on the front? I'm looking at doing the same thing, I've read (and heard) a lot of good things about Avons. Did any of you consider using the Cobra 200/55/R17 on the back? I would prefer to stick with the stock size, so I'm leaning toward the storm, but just wondering if anyone tried going with the 55... I think that would add about 1" to the overall diameter.

The new storm ultra replaces the storm. And i think it is a dual compound. Make sure the weight rating is the same (75w) for the rear and 60w for front.

It's actually a triple compound.

Well thats a third better than what I thought

Going to give these a try as I can get them for £40 cheaper than the Metz. So if it gets me 4500 miles I'v lost nothing as the metz only got me 6k.
