Just had short Tors fitted, real nice throaty sound.

Did about 100 miles today, mainly around twisting country roads, getting a lot of poppin on overrun.

Going through the villages, 30mph, change up early keeping 1500 to 2000 rpm, quiet enough not to be noticed.

Keeping in lower gear in the twistys for better acceleration, soon as I back of approaching bends, lots of popping.

Anyone else getting this?

Same as Druid, had them for 13k and very little popping. Although it did stop a lot when i fitted the high flow filter. Still pops and farts coming down from high revs/speed and I like it like that.

I've just had my 12mthly service, told the mech. about the popping on decel with the shorties, he said there's no update on the mapping. Have to put up with it for now.

It's hard to put sounds to words. And with short stright pipes you essentially have a megaphone hooked to
the combustion spaces....especially with no cat.

So, burbling, belching, grumbling on decel are the other side of the coin to snarling, roaring and tearing sounds on acel.
Good sounds of power.

Crackling, like a string of firecrackers is something else. I think a type of back fire. I'm looking into it.

A sharp rifle shot is a too lean backfire. And a wide wet fart is too rich. Blattt.

For sound management, pull the clutch on decel. No engine braking. I'm running a custom map for cat-less,
It's loud but, I managed to tweek out the gun-shot backfire. Just a bit more fuel in the offensive area.

Still working on understanding the firecrackers.

when i first collected my bird the over run popping with the short tors was so bad it was annoying to ride, felt like a ducati V-twin,farting all the time i decelled, had the dealer remap and now the popping is comfortable and suits the bike, i love it.

Plug the SAI circuit. We had a long thread on it a while back, I will have to find it.

I put on D&DS and it popped like mad. I had installed the TOR tune without SAI. I loaded the TOR tune with SAI, at the suggestion of my dealer, and the popping is gone. My SAI is not plugged.

Secondary Air Injection into the exhaust. Lots of stories about it, but sometimes with certain exhaust systems
and no re-tune, you can plug the SAI valve physically and some say it will help with the firecracker sounds.

Myself, I leave it on.

i had alot of decel popping when i put the d&d's on and the recommended reflash

the 1700 kit was installed and the new recommended reflash and most popping was gone i think the secret is in the adaption for some reason
