Hello all, this is a question for the UK members. Were's the best place to mount a tax disc holder?
I've seen it mounted under the headlight but it sticks out like a sore thumb. I've got the roadster screen fitten and was thinking of mounting it behind the screen using one of the domed nuts , if there is enough thread.
Thoughts?

The dealer put my tax disc on the top caliper bolt on the nearside.

Cannot see anywhere else that would be better.

Depending on where one lives/parks, there is a ferocious habit over here in the purloining of Discs...or Disc holders if needs be! I have lost a few...mini hacksaw blades will cut through in a couple of mins. I carry mine with me at all times (wallet or rucksack) & show a Garda when stopped......that seems to suffice. Did the same while in UK...but that was '74-'87...so maybe rules have changed since then?

All good answers, thanks.
Ultimate, I think the wardens over here would miss that and ticket me. They don't look very hard before getting out the pen!
Hoops, Same for carrying it round with me, I'd have a ticket within minutes, no arguing.

I think Lionel is right, not many options for us living in the police state of UK.
Thanks for responding.

Mines down on the gear shifter on the forward bolt in a chrome holder.

Hiya Hoops. Haven't had tax disk on bikes for past 15 years. Had one nicked many years back. Now just carry in wallet in case stopped. When I have there didn't seem to be an Issue.
I guess with computers they always know if you're legal or not.

interesting... i lost mine and got talking to a copper nearby, his reply was.. its an offnece not to display it and it has to be on the pavement side the right way up so reading it is easy. if you have paid and its not displayed you can get prosecuted

assumed he was right and got the afternoon off to get a replacement from the local office, cost me a bit too just for the replacement

mines down on the gear change,
i like to think they have to BOW at me on my bike (or at the bike if im not there) to read it

In Western Australia we have not had tax stickers of disks since the beginning of 2010, police cars have continuous plate scanners which alert them to any vehicle that is unlicensed or if the driver is suspended from driving.

Narsisco, you're right we ARE screwed.
The police here can easily check to see if your vehicle is taxed or not but we still have to display these stupid things. There are speed cameras all over the place, but at least we have the weather!....no, wait, that's not right.

You'd be surprised where they hide the cameras now.
