Hi Everyone,
I would like to introduce myself, I live in Sydney, Australia. I have been reading this forum for about 14months and after 2 months of reading and two test rides of the Thunderbird I was sold, I have now owned one for almost 1 year and could not be happier. I have owned quite a few bikes in my time mainly sports tourers , before the Bird I owned a 2005 FJR Yamaha excellent bike but wanted a real change. That Change being a cruiser, never ridden a cruiser before, however before choosing the Bird I test rode the Kawasaki 1700 Classic, the Bird won me over completely the quality, I felt everything on the Bird was made for me, the gear changes are the best I have come across precise and positive, the reach to the bars and boy the handling is absolutely outstanding. This is my first Triumph I remember when I first got in to motorcycle back in 1974 I purchased a Z1B Kawasaki it was King of the road back then, a mate of mine purchased a second hand 650 Bonnieville, we rode around together I was absolutely wrapped in my Kawasaki the power was incredible didn't handle all that well but still loved it. I must admit Triumphs didn't really appeal to me back then. Until recently like before the Bird came along I felt my love for motorcycles was waining there wasn't anything on the market that really appealed to me hence the changed to something very different, a cruiser. The Bird has rejuvenated my love for motorcycles. There is definitely a mystic with the Triumph Brand, it has taken me a while to realize it , I know the Bird is responsible for this. This is just a short introduction and I look forward in participating in future discussions, By the way i think this is a tremendous forum.

Welcome mate from another Sydney (East Kurrajong) Tbird owner.

If you like drinking, fooling around, having a laugh etc, have a look at Link

Most of the guys on here are members of the now defunct ratbags (triumph mob) and they have been know to have a damn good time.

More importantly, we are all very good friends.

Stan

Welcome. And yes, blue is the best. And like i always tell everyone with a 1600, get the 1700 kit. Well worth it. And with a certain tune posted here and pipes the thing becomes an unstoppable torque monster.

Definately the best colour mate and from your fit out very comfy. I guess like all of us there are still some goodies that need to be added.

Welcome Captain Thunderbolt

Blue is definately the classiest colour and while we are told other colours may be faster, there has to be something said about "travelling in style!"
Maybe see you in Bathurst April 30th-May 1st. Think about it.
Regards Frank

Welcome. I too have a Blue Tbird outfitted with most, but not all, of what you've added. Also hope to be visiting your country later this year on business and hopefully get some time afterward to see more of it. I was there in 2007 but never got outside of Sydney (which was nice, but I was in offices for most of my time there).

Enjoy your new ride!
