Hello all bird enthusiasts
I am a proud owner of the thunderbird. Funny story I actually went to my dealership to pick up my brand new Fat Bob when I was walking to the other side of the showroom( half this dealership is harley and the other is honda Kawasaki yamaha and triumph) and I saw the new thunderbird sitting there. I found a sales associate for the import side of the store because the harley guys wouldnt help me out on the triumph and took it for a quick test ride before signing the papers for my Harley. About nine miles later I turned around and rushed back to the dealer. I got back in the parking lot and the import sales manager is waiting outside with a contract ready for the bird LOL. He says Well i bet you dont want the american iron anymore and laughed. THe harley sales team then was brought over to watch me trade my Softail and buy my new triumph. Akward nonetheless I even had several rude remarks from the Harley team but all I can say is I have never been happier. Some of the mods that i have done is the short exhaust, Decat, T Bars, Solo Seat, tear drop mirrors, and a power commander

Glad to see you made the right decision. Happy to have you as a new Triumph rider, you won't be disappointed in the long run.
Seems like typical Harley attitude because they don't have an answer for the Thunderbird. Enjoy.

DDD, and welcome

So it took you all of 9 miles
A FACT about Triumph bikes - they are bikes for bikers - not jewelry for posers!
Have fun and remember - we like pictures.

Congrats on your new 'Bird. The story of how I got mine is pretty similar... I went in to test-ride a R3 and when I saw the Thunderbird's ass, I just had to test ride it. LOVE within seconds of climbing aboard... all thoughts of the R3 vanished as I twisted the throttle and I had my new baby in my driveway 24 hours later!

Yes... please let us know your thoughts on the PC and how it's working out for you. There's been a lot of conversation about it here, but I believe you're the first member who actually got one installed. Please share...

Thank you all for the warm welcoming. Now the pc5. I installed it myself with relative ease. The worst part about the install was the o2 sensors. I installed the tor map on my bike and it ran flawless. I have over 700 miles on the pc and not one issue. The bike starts 100 times better than it ever did stock the idle doesn't fluctuate like it did with the triumph tune.now i have the cat box off and ordered a unifilter. And I want to to get the dyno. Tune in the next few weeks

I have to admit that one reason for buying a tbird was that I now don't feel obliged to get a leather waistcoat, half helmet and one of those face protectors with a skull imprinted on it!

My experience of buying my TBird not so different. Booked a trest ride on a R3 tried it up the road for a spin power was amazing but not happy with the controls or the riding position. Got back to the shop thay suggested trying the TBird, first traffic island I was sold on it. Everything is right with it had it a month now and could not ask for more.

In for 600 mile service last Friday. I've been on roads i'd never seen before you just want to keep on riding it.

We have a couple of trips planned leading up to a trip to Faro in July. I just can't wait.

Jhend, if you mean faro in portugal you will love it, was there last year.
Even if July is high season, you shouldn't find to much traffic. The roads are ok and very nice.
Enjoy.

Yes it's Faro in Portugal, what were the prices like last year? (essentials - beer and more beer).

If u like to be a bit out of the party area have a look at this hotel: Quinta dos Poetas a good starting point for daily tours...
