How do you get to page 7

Step by step starting at page one ,carefully turn the pages from right to left using a flat surface to lay the paper on. You should turn three pages before reaching page 7. At page seven, stop following the step by step guide.

I am mainly interested in the panniers...are they hard shell bags or the leather bags? The current screen I already have is plenty big enough though I may order a Clearview with the vent after I get home. Already have the dresser bars fore and aft, with pegs along with the fog lights (accessory light bar kit) and the floor boards. I also have the heated grips.
Does it come with anyway to mount and Ipod stereo set up or are we still doing aftermarket?
Anything on cruise control?
Any other info would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not expecting too much in the way of a touring set up other than what I already mentioned in the first paragraph above other than, possibly, the addition of their "Longhaul" seat.

The footboards are said to be wider than standard Thunderbird foot boards.
Front wheel is said to look fatter.
Handlebars are higher and wider.
The screen is bigger than standard and the say it looks to be adjustable.
If you check the link to MCN website in a few days time, possibly more about this will be on the website, they tend to put news items in the paper version first and then move it onto the website when the next weekly issue is published and in the news agents.
Edit:
Forgot to add, MCN say that they expect to see an announcement around July.

So I think I will be very happy with what I have. And since I hope to add the R3T later on this fall I should have the "touring" part looked after pretty well.

Has you know i have both , but if i had not of spent all that money buying them and the extras , and could do it again my choice would definetly be
A rOADSTAR ,, with quick release , cowling a single seat , for running round the hills and solo rides with my mates on the saturday sundays .
Then put the touring seat , windscreen , backrest and bags ( ALL QUICK RELEASE ) for the daytrips with the wife and extended touring with or without the wife .
tELL YA MATE I WAS IMPRESSED , especially when i was chasing down my mate , on roads we both know quite well roads that on my tourer or my t bird i cannot catch him , but on that thing i was up his ass all the way .
Problem is the wife won't have a bar of it in fact when i mentioned it she mentioned D.I.V.O.R.C.E..
bUT MATE TRY ONE BEFORE YOU BUY THE RT3

I had thought of the Roadster but I am pretty much set on the R3T (can always change my mind...wouldn't hurt to take a test ride) as I want a more "laid back" riding experience...the Roadster, I am afraid, will probably make me want to be faster than I want to be...and after riding Daryl's R3T before he sold it (and before selling my 07 Classic)) and I was pretty happy with what "little" power it had...Ha!
We'll see.

You'd have to go there and ask because i don't recall exactly what they said since it's been a while since i read that. But of course either is quicker than the T. Anyways, i'm just the messenger here so don't shoot me.

BANG!!!You're right daz. I had the original Rocket III and they purposefully detuned the roadster when they built it. I could never figure out the logic, but I definitely recall that happening.

The R3 is a great bike and I had to do some real thinking before I decided to go to the TBird. On a long trip the R3 is definitely better but, at my advanced age I'm probably going to be doing 2 or 3 day trips and the TBird is just fine for that. Coming from 2 Valkyries, going to a big machine like the R3 was not really a big deal. But the Rocket is a bit of a handful in traffic and slow city driving. It can be a real bitch to back up. The TBird is a pleasure and I haven't looked back since my first ride on the TBird. It's one of my better decisions.
Good luck, whatever you decide. They are both fantastic machines and I don't think anyone else can match either of them.

But when i said "whats odd' i was referring to the fact the specs show the roadster has more HP and torque. thats what i don't get.

Because the Roadster limits the power in the first three gears. My buddy bought one in January. And, currently you cannot get into the ECU and massage the tune like the other R3's

| | Posted : 09 Apr 2011 - 01:07 Post title : Re: New Thunderbird Touring for 2011 (Re: CornerBanger) | | | Yes i was refering to the roadster , (only grade 7 education ha ha ),,, If its been detuned i don't know but i believe the tourque has been increased to match the tourer , regard to 1,2,3, gears i believe its been restricted , but heh its got plenty , but where it really does come into its own is 4 and 5th gear , IF YOUR GAME ENOUGH HA HA .
Riding wise its actually a bit smaller than the tourer and you can tell , it made it a lot less of a handful in the city but on the open road and twisties i find i could hit bends a lot harder on that than the rt3 or my T bird .
You are over the tank more and in a lot more agresive riding position than before , but personaly if i got one (which i won't) i would definetly put risers in to give you a more laid back ride for touring .
For me if you are comfortable with a big bike its a awsome one bike does all , with a few quick release things you could turn it from a awsome mean street machine into a very comfortable tourer in less than a couple of minuits , .
Its stil a big bike but not has big has the tourer , and peronaly i was getting rid of my tourer , it was too big for me especially in the city traffic , but lower Ikon shocks 35mm lower and dropping it through the triple clamps 25 mmm made it the same seat height has my T bird and a absolutly great tourer , .
Mind you i will say , that following my mate he was on my T bird i could'nt help but think Fack thats a nice looking bike , I was sat behind him thinking that bike don't suit you cos your too big for it , but i must look good on it ha ha .
Regards the T bird tourer , well i'm with Molliman i've been hoping they would come out with one and would of been first in the que , , but if its just a se version , leather bags ect . i have the rt3 for touring and cannot see myself getting rid of a tbird and a rt3 to buy it , and from the sounds of it if i wanted one bike , since i have a backrest , and longhaul seat , it would be cheaper to just buy the accessories and make my own touring version .
Bit disapointed really because i had heard rumors that they will be getting rid of the rt3 and bringing in a Tbird version , I've been patiently hanging around waiting for the T bird version of a road king , hard bags , abs , cruise control ect ect , and then going to ONE bike .
Looks like the wait is over still suppose , i may have t get some pipes for the bird now The short tors look good but are no where near loud enough .
