A couple of weeks ago, was driving past Triumph dealer and decided to call in to have a look at a Thunderbird.

Dealer offered a test ride, but was in the car had no crash helmet with me.

Next morning woke up and decided to go back on the America and give the Thunderbird a try.

Was out for half an hour, the bike sold itself, bought a Thunderbird 1600 in Pacific Blue.

Collected the following week, ride was so smooth, it dropped into the corners as if on rails.

Was directed to this site by someone on the TriumphRat site.

Hope to drop in from time to time.

Welcome to the fraternity - you'll find a very good bunch of friendly and knowledgeable folk on here.

Your right about the Bird, it really does sell itself - I had a similar enlightening experience a year ago when I got mine - I tested the Rocket immediately after the Bird and I am not joking when I say I got to the lights 50 metres from the dealer on the Rocket when I decided to turn around and go back and order the Bird - I just love it

Great choice of colour, this gives you a lift to the top of the 'classiest TBird by far club'. Welcome in. Where in UK are you ?

Just waiting for the weekend to start.

This is second weekend since I bought the 'Bird.

Last weekend had to work, looking to catch up on some miles this weekend.

Never even crossed my mind . I had a rep in the office and I was doing this and listening to him.
He might not be though.

Welcome Lionel, went from an America to the Thunerbird and asside from the power and brakes the bike is better balanced. Though the Speedy and America are great bikes (and less expensive) too.

Done another 100 miles today.

Have to watch the roundabouts as rubbing side of my boots on the ground on the way around.

Only the right one though, for some reason.

Dropped by the dealers, and they had a pair of short TOR's on on their demo Storm, much better sound than the standard pipes on my 1600.

May order a set of those along with the 500 mile service.

I wonder if they sound the same on a 1600?

Welcome to the site! I suspect the pipes would have the same sound.

Have too agree, short tors look the nuts and sound great, mine did "pop" quiet badly ( like a race bike) on over run, when first picked up the bike, but dealer retuned now they are more accepatable and the sound is awsome....

Lion,

Yeah - TOR's and high flow air filter! That's the way to go.
Have fun - and be prepared to say goodbye to ANY spare time you may have.... If you're not riding the Bird then you'll be either in here or on some other website ordering things for it.
