Hello everyone, I have been reading the forum for a while now & I took delivery of my Storm last week and I thought it was time to 'come out' First off thanks to all the regular posters for their thoughts and advise, its helped a lot as I speced up my new bike.
So I thought I'd share my early impressions of my Storm (which I am ridiculously over excited about still) for you all.
I traded from a Sprint ST to a Storm with the objective to slow down a bit (Switzerland is a bit picky when it comes to speeding) & so far it seems to work. The Sprint felt happiest at around 150KPH- 160KPH (around 100MPH) and the Storm is very comfortable around 120KPH (75MPH) so it looks like that might work.
I am still running her in this week so I have been taking it easy but the brakes and handling look to be everything Triumph promised and the roll on from 120KPH to 170KPH is outstanding. I am sure its going to be lots of fun when it gets loosened up.
I know the Storm polarises opinions but personally I love it. I wasn't sold on the Thunderbird headlight and I am not a massive chrome fan so it ticked all my boxes (I may consider re-training as an accountant but I can't promise)
As for extras I went for the short TOR's a long haul seat, heated grips (so far a brilliant decision), triumph saddlebags (I commute everyday and I don't like rucksacks) and black teardrop mirrors which are outstandingly clear at every speed I have tried so far. I think it looks great (picture below) and opinions are welcomed.
If any of you are in the Geneva area Bassetts Motos have been a top dealership, I can't recommend them enough. BTW they have a cruiser event next weekend if you are in the area. (24 - 26 March 2011)
Any how I hope to see some of you out on the road now spring is here

Cheers

Ian

I don't think I am the only one in asking that it would be nice to see your Storm from the side. I am really interested to see how it looks with the bags.

Here you go. If you follow the link you can see a couple of angles. Not sure the shot from the back does it justice, it looks more in proportion to me in real life

Hi
Fine piece of kit there. I did enjoy my time on the Storm.

Congratulations on the ride Ian and welcome to the forum.

Stick a fly green on and the sweet spot is around 85 - 95 mph.

Looking forward to seeing some reports and updates.

Ian and welcome.

Great pics, and interesting to hear that you have clear vision with the mirrors! I too had clear vision until I exchanged the handle bars from stock to TT bars!!!

Oh well - I've learnt to live with them.
