I am sorry if this might have been covered before but I am new to this site and have only had my T Bird for 2 weeks (still smiling).
My question is...I think the dual headlights look great, much better than the single on my bike. Has anyone bought the double and was there much trouble installing them ? .
By the way, I like the laidback style of the forum. We will have to get a few more Aussies to register to beat the Poms total.

Check out Birdy's bike. Also have a look at SeanS's bike - he has replaced his for a Speedmaster (bigger ) light and it looks fab.

You will need more than numbers to beat us poms

Well I didn't buy the STORMs' headlights, as they weren't around last year!
My dealer fabricated an adaptor so that the Street Triple twin lights would fit. It all started out with a mock-up fitting:

Here you can see the fabricated adapter:

And here's some details:

If you were to ask me what to do, I'd say go for the STORMs' original fitting.
It's nice and BLACK!

had a good gander in the showroom and my thoughts are to check out bike breakers for 2/h speed triple etc twin
headlights or order new ones if you want chrome then order the storm bracket and it should go together

or just order the storms

should be simple to fit

the only snag might be in countries wiring laws. not looked this up but was told by my dealer that there are differences. something about only 1 light on at a time for dip. havnt checked it out so it could be rot but he was looking to import the harley twin lights for me and in the catalogue there were 2 different order codes , 1 for US wiring and 1 for uk wiring

Your dealers right.

Here in Oz the Harley Fat Bob only has one light running at a time plus a extra globe for a parking light. One of the boys ( Fab ? ) had a fix for that somewhere on the forum. I ended up buying a set from the US, they have both lights on for both high and low beams but no parking light. So not legal in Oz.

Cheers.

G'day Fab,

unless you order the US spec one. I've got both, different internals I was hoping to be able to swap a few parts and still have the parker light.

The US spec one has both lights on, high and low beams. $350. Plus postage from US

Yeah mate that's exactly what I've been saying.

I work in Bahrain, one of the guys bought a Fatbob there. He didn't like the one eyed look but the dealer said he could change it . It cost him a fortune there. Anyway I got his old headlight but it was missing the surround that holds the globes in. After looking around I then bought the US one from these guys, Link

I pm'ed you to see how you wired yours up a while back. I'm not much of a mechanic but I cut the plug off drilled out the hole where the wires come put a rubber grommet in poked all the wires inside and used a connector block to join them up again.

The two sets of lights are identical except for the bulbs and bulb housing. I thought it would be a simple matter of changing the bulbs over and then I'd still have the parker light. No way totally different

Are you saying that it is illegal in OZ to have two headlights on?

On low beam, yes and no.....

It's a crazy situation here in our over regulated country, if you buy a Triumph Rocket they come out of the shop with both lights working at all times. Triumph seem to be the exception to the rule. My Yamaha has duel lights but only has one working when on low beam the same as the Fatbob and most of the other brands. As Fab said you can't even buy the replacement parts here.

Thank you all for your input. I think I will investigate the legalities of replacing a single headlight with a dual here in Oz before I start buying. I appreciate your time.
