I went to the dealer today and said: I want to order the same handlebars as the storm plus the same risers.

They said: Don't have them & can't order them because we don't even have a parts book for the storm yet.

I said: Okay, but can you tell me if the ice cream store just up the street is any good?

Dealer: It sure is!

Me: BYE

I can believe that the books/computer systems aren't updated yet and I could understand if Storm parts aren't available as accessories yet, but I would doubt that those taking delivery won't be able to get replacement/repair parts.

Or, it could be that you have a lazy dealer that won't pick up the phone.

Just askin, dude. Did they try the microfisch (or however it's spelled?!). Stuff shows up their first-and it's not unheard of for guys like us to have info. prior to the dealer network.

Triumph is really slow to get parts in the loop with new bikes. But the storm is just arriving so it's understandable at the moment. however, it could be the dealer is just being lazy because it's probably a pain for them to find out. Theres a lot of mis-communication and LACK of communication in the triumph network, especially at the beginning of a bike's debut. I was one of the first adopters when the original Tbird arrived and I went thru all kinds of that jumping thru hoops crap just to get any kind of answer, and of the answers i'd get no 2 would ever be the same. After about a year things got much better. Triumph makes great bikes but it's almost as tho they spend all the energy they have on that and have none left for any other aspect of the business. But so far a small price to pay for such a awesome bike.

Did you tell him Narsisco sent ya?

Seriously, Chris is a good guy and does his best to find you what you need... he's done a good job by me. I'd rather give my money to a guy like him who'll go the extra mile than to a dealer whose parts "manager" (that's getting paid hourly) can't even be bothered to do some research.

I've seen, in the past, the US sites for dealers way behind the UK ones.
