Anyone else experiencing damage to number plates?

'Cause it's acting as a mud flap mines becoming see through where crud is hitting it.

Looks like it could do with something to coat the back for protection.

Any ideas?

Maybe a piece of hard plastic cut to fit behind it.

Hi md, didn't know Foxton Locks was a residential area, thought it was one of the 7 Wonders of the Waterways System?! Had my bike for 15 months, 8k miles and the plate looks fine.

Live on a narrowboat, normally moored 'bout a mile from the locks.

I toured around Wales last summer and seemed to do miles and miles where loose chippings had just been done

The numberplate on my old Kawasaki VN900 Classic started to crack on either side at the top where it was attached to the bike. I got a chrome numberplate holder and sandwiched the plate between it and hard 1/4 inch plastic sheet. Screws in the four corners, and re attach to the bike. All Ok
