I haven't seen anything i like near as much. Only gripe is it seems to be plastic. But it's chrome and looks like it's metal so what the heck. hell, maybe it IS metal, but it's so light it doesn't seem like it would be. But it just looks so cool on the Bird, like it was made for it.
hey, by the way, and word from progressive yet? I wonder if they gave up for some reason.

Anybody besides me interested in HID/Bi-xenon kits? I started the How to Install an HID/Bi-Xenon Light Kit Thread and it seems there's SOME interest.
I know that DDM USED to sell a motorcycle-specific kit, but it's no longer on their site. HID Country sells a Chinese-made component kit (the one I installed).
But, I wonder if it's worth it to source out the German ballasts/bulbs/harnesses and create a TRUE fitment for bikes with single light nacelles like ours.
As an ex-manufacturing engineer, this was the kind of stuff I did... but, number would have to be crunched to make sure you could get a HIGH-QUALITY kit back down below $100 US and be relatively easy to install. My kit WAS pretty plug-and-play, but I thought the wiring harness could have been better thought-out. And, even with the Chinese ballast/bulb/controller/relay... at $50 bucks delivered, I thought it was a good enough deal to see how I liked it. And I DO like it just fine... the bulb/light intensity and quality is WAY better than stock. But, I would still like to find a German ballast/bulb/controller set for the long-term...
Any thoughts?

Well, Dave... we own bikes that are still relatively brand-new AND limited in production numbers as compared with other bikes out there. Aftermarket accessory manufacturers need to know they've got the right numbers of projected sales before they invest in any given accessory or aftermarket part. It just kinda goes with the territory of owning a Thunderbird... if everyone rode one, then there would be TONS of parts and accessories for it. But, I don't think most of us would WANT everyone to own one.
Don't be too disheartened, though... Triumph basically uses standard, "metric-cruiser" sizes, like the standard-sized handlebar, so things like bar-end mirrors ARE out there that will fit, it just requires the bike owner (YOU, buddy!) to do a bit of research, part-pulling to verify sizes, and sometimes good, old-fashioned trial-and-error to find things that properly-fit. Fortunately, we have our great friend Eddy who's willing to spend some of his precious non-work hours to do a lot of this research for us.

Still working it.

And the light difference is amazing. The company is located in Sarssota, Florida and ships almost same day. A large improvement for a small amout of money.

Hey! Glad to hear it!
Here's a tip: I removed the reflector that comes attached to the HID bulb and got WAY more light spread across the road without diminishing the amount of light that projects forward down the road, plus, the high beam angle of the HID seems to work better, too.
NOTE: I'm gonna copy and paste this section into the How to Install an HID/Bi-Xenon Light Kit Thread

I removed the ENTIRE reflector. Again, it doesn't effect the amount of 'forward' light at all, but does increase the amount of "side" light by a big factor... kinda like having fog lights on: the view on each side of the bike is greatly-improved.
NOTE: Again, I'm gonna put this reply in the original thread in the "How To" section. lwc1600.... you may want to reply via PM or in that thread if you need additional clarification.

I've been looking around a little bit but I want the two headlight set up in black like is already on my Storm and I think that is going to be harder to find. Pretty sure there are some LED headlights out there that would replace the standard bird's light though. I don't have any comparison data as to your HID vs LED for brightness though. I've only looked around a bit and haven't really dug deep yet.

Eddy - this still active???? Based on my recent grip issue, and others looking for alternative, I'd be a willing guinea pig for trying some of the Roland Sands grips that were posted in the recent "grip thread". In that link there are others like Arlen Ness, etc., which fit the Yamaha/Star bikes. Any way we can get "confirmed" fitment from Roland Sands Design?

Is it possible mate up a 7" or larger aftermarket headlight to a bracket that would bolt on to T-Bird to replace 6 1/4" stock single light?
Some thing like this Link or Link or if LED maybe even this with trim ring Link .
You carry a BC bracket/mount Link that might work.
If you could mate up a set and sell it below the $350.00 price to go the OEM Speedmaster light swap I'd buy it ASAP.
This seems to be a common want to on this forum. We either want to go bigger on light or go to chrome dual set up (might be a seller as well).
