Chrome for me Jamie.

Two questions though, do you get scratches on the cover in front just back from the Triumph badge? I do from my boots even though it is just leather that touches the chrome and what are the rear shocks?

I kinda like the black. Went for the same look on my Bonnie so I am biased though

Did you powder coat directly onto the chrome or strip back first?

Cheers, Lee.

Well for me, I'd have to do the engine cover too.

I do like it - but IF - then both cover and engine.

i have a piece of clear film there to stop the scratches, the shocks are ikon progressive front and rear(very nice shocks)
i had them strip it back and then powder coat it.the more i look at it the better i like it,but i will leave the others chrome
i think it stands out to much being chrome. only time will tell if i keep it or go back to the chrome one

I think the black cover leaves a visual hole in the bike... .doesn't work for me.

But, you like it so there ya go. That's all you need. Looks like they did a good job on the coating.

yeah, doesn't work for me either. I see it as just not matching the chrome alternator cover. But like thatch said, if it works for you thats all that matters

Nice job though.

I like it. It sets off the engine nicely. I think the rims and pulley would benefit from the same treatment on the silver bike.

Yes I have been using the clear film as well but only get about two or three rides out of it before the heat lifts it.Suppose it's better than scratches.

I will see what the new shocks(recall) on mine do before making a change.

i have had the clear protective film on my bike(witch was a kit for lots of bits to be covered)
and none of it has peeled off dont know why you are having troubles.
i would suggest about getting at least the front springs done.they are cheap and make a real good difference to they handling.

I agree with Birdy. I think the engine case would set it off but looks a bit odd on its own.

I'm glad someone is having a go at changing the look of the pulley cover. Like the bear claw on the Rocket, I think the pulley cover just doesn't look right on the Bird.

Suspension, Big Bore and now tweaking the cosmetics. Great bike.

Ohhhh....i dunno bout that ! I agree it's not one of the Tbird's best design aspects, but comparing it to the notorious bear claw?! That thing ain't just a little out of place, it's downright FUGLY ! The one on the touring model isn't as bad.

Re the clear stuff, it's probably just the product that I have been using. I have a large roll of it left over from another life so have just been cutting out patches...................keeps me busy

I'll chase you up later on the forks for some more info, thanks for the tip.

Cheers,Lee

Nice touch. BTW those pipes really do look good on the Bird - not taken much notice of them before.
