Arai "PROFILE" model Color Passion Blue, it has white stripes. The only drawback is the $500+ price & the 2 large "ARAI" labels towards the rear sides. I'm not a big fan of half helmets because they offer no protection. When I crashed 24 years ago the first thing to hit the road was my chin but thankfully I was wearing a full face helmet.

I have an Arai Corsair V, retail in Australia is around $1,000. It's a great hat with excellent ventilation. increased lateral vision and pin lock visor. The sickers will peel off...infact they usually give you a sheet of extra stickers for some reason.

oh i forgot to mention I totalled my bird whilst wearing it. Scratches from chin to above the visor, chin vent broken, visor hinge cover gone, scratches on the back and side of the lid.

It is likely that had i been wearing an open face I would be eating through a straw right now...or worse. Do it , it will be the best 500 dollars you ever waste

Cruisin' on thru the junction i'm flyin' 'bout the speed of sound
Noticin' peculiar function i ain't no roller coaster show me down.
I turned away to see her woa! she caught my eye
But i was rollin' down movin' too fast;

I'm assuming you are talking about this one....

Should be a good match if it is.

Personally I don't like full face helmets much. I have one and wear it when the weather is bad or might turn that way but I've never liked the diminished hearing and vision they provide. The important bit is that you ride with something that you are comfortable with and $500 for that regardless of the style is a small investment.

Glad you found something that works for you.

Come on, Thatch... hearing and seeing while riding is over-rated

Seriously, I take the opposite position. I had my Scorpion EXO-1000 on when I went down on my ZX10 in the mountains this past June and I saw right-hand lane line come at me as my head smacked it. Had I not had it on... who knows, I might not be typing this message right now. 3 days after my accident, I had a brand-new EXO-1000... and I won't ride without it.

The somewhat limited vision and aural input while wearing a helmet can EASILY be made up for by "keeping that head on a swivel".

But, I totally agree with you that $500 is a small investment for something you are comfortable with and... keeps that grey matter intact! Had I not already blown a big chunk of change on my various farkles this winter, I'd be seriously thinking about a new Arai RX-Q. Arais can be safely considered the best helmets on the planet!

They must have changed that. I have the new RX-Q and the stickers are under the clearcoat.

Yup, thats the helmet, but I sure hope those dark areas in that photo is from the lighting. The blue itself is lighter then the bike, but its better then nothing.

I've got the RX-Q in Diamond Blue and it's a darn good match to the Blue TBird. Not perfect, but from a distance it appears nearly so, it's only when you get right next to them both that you see the difference. The Arai helmet is a bit more metal flake than the bike. I'm very happy with the look of the helmet with the bike.

Here is the link to the Arai site:

And as far as I know the Arai decals on all their helmets are under the clearcoat of the helmet and have been for many years.

I love my Arai, I can't find another brand that fits as comfortable.

Mine is getting on the older side so I should be shopping for another, as far as hearing, I noticed when I got my current Arai I could hear better than the Shoei I had previously, the Shoei also hurt my head. I do wish the sight picture was better but maybe the new are compared to mine.

I''ll buy 2 helmets of the Arai Profile in blue with white side stripes in march. I just hope they don't discontinue them before then.

Seriously, I take the opposite position. ...

Well I'll never argue against a full face helmet. If you like it and you are comfortable wearing them then why not. That said the increased safety argument doesn't compel me much. There will always be anecdotal stories to support this added bit of kit or the other being the difference between life and death, or dismemberment. And there will always be an argument to wear more and more and better gear to keep safe. Meanwhile guys will still die in wrecks while fully kitted up. While it would be stupid for me to argue that more and better gear won't help, it's also true that the only bit of safety gear that is guaranteed to keep you from getting hurt in a motorcycle wreck is to strap on a couch and stay there.

So it's all a gamble, and a dangerous one at that. But for me, my awareness is better in an open face helmet. I can see, hear and smell things that I am completely unaware of in a full face. On top fo that, it's the experience I want to have and if it weren't for rain I'd never even own a FF. But it's an issue for each to decide for himself, what safety gear to wear. I always ride fully kitted up in helmet, boot, glasses, gloves and jacket (no pants, haven't found anywhere that makes cycle pants with a long enough inseam) But I still know that if I go down, it will luck (or God, take your pick) that keeps me from sliding in front of a moving car, or from shooting off an embankment or getting t-boned by some mobile phone using cager, that has more to do with whether I live or die than any bit of kit that I'm wearing..... but it will still help.

Long way of saying, wear what you want, just don't fool yourself in thinking that you're safe. You're only safe if your gear on a self and you're sitting on your ass watching TV.

I have to agree with you thatch, specially about the open face helmet,i know i have alot better vision and hearing wearing a half face helmet.

I just got an RXQ 2010 model and peeled off the decals immediately. I got the Silver Frost color and it matches my silver Bird almost perfectly. All I need now is a black stripe.
