I give Triumph credit for hiring an outside designer as opposed to "Designing by Committee" in-house, but even with an outsider, there's no way in any sizable company to keep the "Committee" totally out of the picture. Picture a room full of Triumph Executives reviewing Tim's design. One says: "I like everything except..." Another says: "This feature is cool, but will be hard to manufactured", etc., etc., etc. All that leads to changes.
I read once that the quintessential example of "Design by Committee" is the Pontiac Aztec. At least we didn't get the motorcycle equivalent of that.

Amen brother!
I think the controls and cables where one area that didn't make it from the design.
I'd like to think the tank badge didn't as well BUT I can't imagine that badge coming out of committee either. I would of expected a conservative choice to come out of that, which would of been a standard Triumph badge. I don't know.... maybe, it could of been a metal badge that was too expensive, Tim argued that it wouldn't be right in plastic so the committee decided on an easy and cheap castable metal badge, thinking that it was 'just as good'. Hard to say.
My other guess is mass aneurysms for the entire design team during the badge design meeting..... it could happen.

The whole of California is about to be wiped of the face of the earth by a mega super bitch mother *ucker of a rain storm. That dealer could be a lot further away when its all over. Looks like you maybe ought to change that Big Bore for a big boat. Unless of course you are like me and take all this stuff with a pinch of salt. Get that Bird some stilts and crack open another beer.

I'm sure you've heard the news reports over there....hasn't been fun for a lot of people. Where I'm from we've been lucky to escape the carnage, but many people haven't been so lucky.
I feel almost blessed that I managed to do a four day trip on the bird with some mates covering about 1500km and we dodged all the bullets with clear skies and open, dry and intact roads.

I read about the MFer rain storms. Evidently the geological record says they hit every couple hundred years or so. They say the damage could be as high as 800 billion. Then I watched a NOVA show about killer earthquakes and started wondering at what point is is cheaper to simply move everyone out of California. We're loosing population here in Michigan and could hold a few million

Mexico's President has forcefully spoken against those that want to secure our boarders and reduce illegal immigration, but if one tries to illegally immigrate to Mexico they'll practically shoot you on the spot. There laws against Illegal Immigration are very strict.
Do as we say, not as we do - seems to be the mantra of all politicians.

Snow in places that usually don't get it, lots of rain, cold. But no end of the world scenario, not even close. Just a strong storm not unlike others we've seen every now and then.
