Here's one
I have read several posts on here that say the gas gauge is pessimistic and you still have a gallon or more when it's showing empty. My own situation is a bit different. I took it down to 20 miles to go on the gauge and filled up. To my surprise it only took 3.2 gallons but heres the interesting part - the gauge never registered full after the fill up. The bars slowly climbed to about 3/4 but never went all the way to full on my 30 plus mile ride. The furthest the "miles remaining" got to was 140 and then started to drop.
This has happened on both occasions I have filled the tank. It seems like the gauge is not registering and is also pessimistic combining to create a situation where it shows almost empty and yet requires only a little more than half a tank to fill it up.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Thanks

I have the issue when my fuel light comes on I only take 4 gallons. I've just learned to adjust, but I'll probably play the warranty card on it.

There is something funky about how thew gauge works, however. When I put my Tbars on, my tank was about 3/4 full. I siphoned out a few gallons, put the Tbars on and put the tank back on. I took the bike out, but the gauge never read below 3/4 - right where I left it. I rode it for about 20 miles and the gauge never readjusted. I stopped and filled it up and after the normal mile or two, the gauge went back to full and has worked ever sense.
I'd run it one more cycle and make sure it is full. If it doesn't recalibrate itself, I'm sure they'll fix it on warranty.
