Looking to get a more comfortable ride for my wife. I already have the Tbird Comfort Series seats and after 2hrs she's had enough. I don't see any aftermarket options any better than what we have.

Hi TBird, welcome aboard-
Never had any complaints from the early Long Haul seat, tho I don't think they are interchangeable with the newer seat you have. Backrest was main improvement here.
Under upholstery is all one-piece molded foam, so if you intend to change padding, plan on starting from scratch. Added a very thin layer over top, but even that was a lot of trouble for a slight improvement. Depends on complaint, but about the only mod to stock foam is perforation of surface.

Would require a decent bracket to be fabricated to mount off the rear guard. Report back if you go ahead.

I believe it is possible, but will require some engineering and fabrication. You will want her to sit firm, not loosing her.
Although getting close to blasphemy, you could look for a seat from a BMW LT, or a Honda Goldwing. It might be looking a bit awkward, but they are super comfortable, and your wife will love it.
