Would expect a hose ending somewhere below/beside swingarm, yes? Can't wait to see what's in that canister after 15 years..... Thanks

I just have to take a day and figure it out. Problem is, bike is parked in the shop and it's hard to avoid all the chaos without hopping on it and riding away. Will look for that valve, thanks Lee.

Hose goes over to the left side of the airbox, has a 180 degree bend then enters the airbox high on the LH side. Then in the bottom of the box there is a recess where oil pools which enters a short hose which has the duckbill valve molded at its end.

Rollover valve? Purge valve? Vacuum signal hose, all to vent the gas tank? FFS, my old Bonneville had a pin hole in the gas cap. If all throttle bodies are connected via a hose (6), I might get away with removing the rest - depending on computer controls.
From Manual (pgs 10.121 - 10.123): There are two distinct phases to the system's operation, engine off and engine running. When the engine is switched off, hydrocarbon fuel vapour passes down the breather pipe A through the roll-over valve to the canister. Vapour is then stored in charcoal layers within the canister. When the engine is started, vacuum from the engine is applied through pipe C to the vacuum switch on the canister, causing the canister return valve to open. Direct return of vapour, along pipe B, to the throttle bodies is prevented by the purge control valve which is governed by the engine management system. When open, the valve allows stored vapour to return to the throttle bodies where it enters the engine and is burnt in the cylinders. The purge control valve is shuttled between the open and closed position during purging to prevent transient rich mixture and high emissions.
